Cheery's country living adventure

That sounds blissful hb! Having a pretty garden you can look over without maintaining it is extremely appealing right now 😁😁
No ill effects so far - in fact I ate a healthy tea and did the washing up and hoovered and repotted a load of tomatoes, cucumbers and loofah plants so maybe it did me some good!! 😁😂
On the Flylady theme... I found the old folder I was using last time I attempted it and it still had my old routines written in, so I'm giving them a go. I've done washing two days in a row! 😮 And today's task on the generic weekly plan is "plotting and scheming" (I think I made that one up, not Flylady 😂) so I am looking at plans for the rest of the week, and have texted my mum to see if she wants to visit on Sunday.
Also making plans for a sneaky pre-work bike ride tomorrow 😮 I did that LOADS last summer and really enjoyed it, just need to get back into the habit! I nearly went this morning - stupidly didn't because my phone ran out of charge (no audio book! No strava!) but by the time it had charged it was after 8am and a bit late... No excuses tomorrow though - I might even put my bike in the car tonight!
Oh, and my giant fence posts arrived this morning 😁 They are truly massive 😮 I plonked one in the hole I dug with my new auger and it still towered mightily over me 😮 😁 Should keep the foxes out though! (Although it'll probably end up with a mesh roof anyway so i could have got away with 8ft posts but at least this way Mr Cheery won't bang his head 😁4 -

I do like a bit of plotting and scheming!
Anyway, it's worked out - my mum is coming over on Sunday (first time since the pandemic 😮 ) and we're meeting a friend for ice cream on Friday morning 😁 And I'm now being quite thankful for the dentist being cancelled - I realised we also had a vets appointment later in the same day, in completely the wrong direction. Doable, but would have meant a total of about 6 hours of driving that day (as well as having a tooth out).
Anyway - some country living shenanigans this evening. Our field. Not our sheep. 😂
Result? Sheep 1, Cheery & Mr Cheery 0 🙄😂12 -
Outwitted by sheep and an 8ft Mr Cheery - it's all going on at yours 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!6 -
Certainly is! (And Mr Cheery is - thankfully - not 8ft tall 😮😂 I would have to bury them at least 2 foot, meaning only 6 foot above ground - he's not actually 6 ft tall either but it would have been pushing it 😂)6

Cheery, with a view like that, you can look at the big picture
- in my small garden, there is something to do constantly because all I can see are the details.
You have very pampered chickens (as they should be!).2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8567 -
What a gorgeous view Cheery!
I completely agree with you that Flylady methods are effective! I trained myself to create & maintain some really good habits over the past year based on her system - it has helped immensely when work and home have been the same place! As KC will undoubtably say - little and often is less exhausting than all at once4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Little and often certainly is less exhausting!
Tried to go for a bike ride this morning. After half an hour of lugging bike round, emptying the car looking for bike pumps, only finding crappy ones and failing to pump the tyres up properly, I'm hot, sweaty and exhausted and have admitted defeat 🙄
Going to order a new pump, and try again another day! For goodness sake!8 -
What a frustrating start to the day, good luck for future cycling endeavoursFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Thanks BB, it was rather a palaver! Mr Cheery is going to help me search for the other bike pump, but I think I'm just going to buy a new one anyway - they're pretty cheap and you can never have too many, clearly...
Pretty cheerful rest of the day, had a couple of lovely meetings which was nice 😊 and got a few bits and pieces done between them, although not as much as I'd have liked. Quick cafe trip at the end of the day, arguing with Rusty the chicken over taking her medicine 🙄 and then I did a bit of scything of the footpath - there was a narrow track for people to walk on but it was very narrow, with lots of long grass, so I've widened it a bit to make it more obvious.
Just having a cuppa on the swing seat before I decide what's for tea...6
