Ok, we need to stop talking about cake now - I'm desperately trying to eat less of it and this is all just making me want to eat more!
Just occurred to me that I didn't notify the DVLA about the scrapped car - the scrap people said they had done it anyway, but I was going to do it as well, just in case. However, bizarrely, their online service is only available 7am til 7pm (why??) so I'll do it tomorrow.
Also occurred to me that I didn't cancel the insurance! So I've just rung to do that, although in the event I've suspended it, and can just reinstate the same policy with the new car when we get it. Saves a cancellation fee, and also saves messing about - they're both with the same insurer with same start and end dates so this will keep everything tidy. And we get a bit of a refund if it takes us over a month to get a new car, which hopefully it won't
I'll do the DVLA tomorrow and then we'll just wait for the tax to be returned, if there is any - I think it was due 31st May so it won't be much. Just checked online when it was due, and it says 'this vehicle could not be found', which I guess means the scrap people have done the paperwork after all.
Is there anything else? Breakdown covers us, not the cars, and so I think that's it.
Just need to find a new one now... Yawn. Mr Cheery is in charge of searching so I have to practice patience...8 -
So. Next thing on my finances list to sort out is loyalty cards 😂 Not exactly as big as pensions, but I feel I've found out all I need to about that for now, and while it's percolating through my brain, I might as well sort out a small thing.
I have a confession, which I already made on someone else's diary - I have no idea how to claim loyalty points from quite a few of the places I collect them 😮😂😂 I've never spent a Morrisons More point, and I think I've only spent Nectar points once. Boots points I've done, but I don't think I've ever spent Tesco points.
Goodness me, what kind of moneysaver am I?? 😂😂
So I'm going to start rounding up and claiming all my points, and adding the totals to the kitchen fund 😁
I did look recently at one of them (Nectar I think) to see if I wanted to use any of the deals with other companies where your points are worth more... but none of them were anything I wanted, not even for presents for other people.
Will report back... 😁8 -
You can spend nectar points in Agros!

Thanks beanie - an excellent use of points!
Too late though sadly, because I started with Nectar, and have just converted our points into £15 worth of Ebay vouchers 😁 Most of then were collected through ebay, so it only seemed fair 😁
£15 transferred to the kitchen fund, now standing at £735.72, and 38p of Nectar points left in the account...8 -

I used my nectar points to buy dd a Rubix cube.
I also need to decide how I am going to use my Boots points, not somewhere I shop often but I have over £100.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family6 -
Thats a good idea - it adds up, it really does. The only ones I actually use are Nectar points and Boots points, though I found I could order £50 of JL vouchers, and I just can't remember how I did that
But your £735 in the kitchen fund really shows how it adds up

😂😂 you lot 😂😂
I don't go in Boots that often either, although I have a feeling I do have at least £15 worth of points in there too. Looking forward to finding out!7 -
OK, last one for tonight - £10 worth of Morrisons points transferred to card to spend in store, and another £10 transferred to the kitchen fund, now standing at £745.72.
Excellent!
Tesco and Boots tomorrow, and I'll rummage through my purse to see if I can find any more... Suggestions welcome!8
