Cheery's country living adventure

Thank you!
Good news and cautious celebrations in the Cheery household this morning - Mr Cheery has seen a (private) consultant today and been diagnosed with a benign, treatable condition, not the progressive and terminal one he was fearing. I think it'l take a while to sink in - I'm very glad I was trying to delay my own panic until we had a diagnosis 😮
Not going to backtrack on the decision to get someone else to fix the house though!!11 -
So pleased to hear your news Cheery. I hope this means that you and Mr Cheery can relax a bit. But you're right on getting help with the house - I found the whole 'living in a building site' wearing even with help. Much as I'd like to have done more of it myself, realistically work gets in the way... Do the bits you enjoy (for me, that's the garden) and get help getting the rest sorted so that your life is a bit easier.

Lovely news, Cheery! Really wonderful. Many, many congratulations, and much positivity. It's a shake-up, though, isn't it, makes you reassess things - no wonder you're going to get people in. Priorities change.2023: the year I get to buy a car8

What a relief for you both. So pleased to read this.
And I think you are right to get some help with the work on the kitchen. It will be worth it definitely xxx8 -
Good to hear you have had some more positive news after such a difficult and worrying time. I think tea and cake is still in order so being sent virtually to you both.

So happy for you and Mr Cheery! 🎉
And yes, I find dealing with tradespeople very tedious. They don't turn up when they say they will, jobs take longer than expected and delays are a regular occurrence. Maybe if it was predominantly a women's profession things would be more organised?MFW - Original balance 28/08/2014 £52850Original MF date: 2049:eek: Aiming for: 2025 Current MFD: 2030
