Yay with the trees! I hope they helped with coming out of the bad feelings - I hope you *are* out of the bad feelings, actually, sorry! It feels endless, doesn't it and when you've got particular issues going on as well, so much more difficult.
But yes, yay with the trees.2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
Hey Cheery! Poor you, sounds like you’ve been having a really tricky time, no wonder you’re feeling blue. So many people seem to be feeling the same at the moment too.So exciting about the trees!!5

Having a slightly harassed morning Set off without my blood test form so had to turn back, and ended up rushing and being a few minutes late. And now they've announced avian flu restrictions, which means that from 14th December the chickens will be going into their own version of lockdown, and there will be no free ranging at all, not even for little backyard flocks
They need to be under cover, so there's no chance of wild bird droppings reaching them. Their run is fine - but last time this happened (2017, well before we had chickens) they were in for four months (!) which is a long time to be in that space. We've got 11 days, and I think we'll be spending it building an extension. Probably won't be a money saving one either - building stuff from what you have lying around is all very well, but not usually very quick.
At least it's while the weather is rubbish I suppose, so they're not missing much by being inside. They spend most of their time in our porch anyway!

Not sure of your age CD but I had a bout of recurrent thrush about 3 years ago coinciding with start (ish) of peri menopause. It drove me mental for months. I remember googling and seeing that sticking garlic (up there) was a potential cure. I was that desperate I considered it (for about 10 minutes) before imagining a scenario with the doc explaining why I had a clove of garlic there. 😂😂
I hope it improves soon for you. It just seemed to take time for me. But so annoying.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Fortunately the doctor has me on a new medication regime for the next 3 months so we'll see how that goes...
Snowing here, quite heavily this afternoon, got an inch or so on the ground now and it's sticking. Fortunately we don't have anywhere to go over the weekend so hopefully it won't be too windy tomorrow and we can admire the prettiness...7 -
Fingers crossed new meds worked. I was about 41/42 and didn’t realise it was peri menopause at the time.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Interesting, thank you debtfreeoneday. I shall remain vigilant!
Nice weekend here, a jolly mix of relaxed and productive. Didn't sleep well Friday night and ended up on the sofa with a cuppa at 5.30am but got my notebook out and did a good bit of planning for the new year so not time wasted.
Snow still around, chickens weren't impressed, and we shut them back in anyway after a couple of hours as the fog descended. Nipped to another town for a quick charity shop peek and some provisions. Got a few battens screwed to the kitchen ceiling, so that was good! Lots more still to do though. I wish I was taller - it's a right nuisance stepping on and off a box all the time Mind you it would also be a nuisance banging my head on the ceiling all the time, so I should just keep quiet about that
This morning I had a lovely time reading my book in my dressing gown for several hours Then spent the afternoon in the garden. We're planning this extension to the chicken run ready for chicken lockdown (did I mention that?? All chickens inside from 14th December ) Our run is fine, but given that last time this happened they were in until April, we'd like to extend it so they've got more room. Today I've been shifting compost, and moving a giant pile of grass/turf/mud that got dumped there over the summer and is now right in the way. Worked up a right sweat, but it was nice to be outside. And my thermal gloves did a great job!
Nothing financial to report. Missed an electricity meter reading date but that's not a big crisis, they'll just have to estimate this time. We're at least £200 in credit anyway.
What else? Oh, I ordered all my presents for the kids we buy for from a local ish toy shop and collected them on Saturday so I feel like present buying is nicely underway! I have cards, and several other presents, and there are only a couple of people left now. I also usually buy for two birthdays at the same time, but since they're not til mid Jan I'm going to wait this year. Somehow that makes the list a bit more manageable.
So. The plan for this week.
* get the Christmas tree out of the loft and up!
* get more battens cut and screwed to the ceiling
* order materials for chicken run extension
* do car insurance mileage form
* finish ordering presents
* start writing cards - I want to put letters in some so I'm going to try to do one of those each morning this week, then do the rest of the cards at the weekend
* start making present bags - I want to use these instead of wrapping paper, at least for family presents this year, and for Mr Cheery. Need to get sewing! It'll also be nice to use some of my fabric stash, some of which I've been carrying round for about 20 years I've made a couple of simple ish drawstring bags, but they're not lined, and I think I'm making things more complicated than they need to be. Need to find a new pattern.
Anyway, that's the shape of the week really! Might try to meet a friend for a lunchtime walk one day, and we're doing an online murder mystery at the weekend, but otherwise no plans.
Stay safe and solvent if you can MSE chums! Xx8 -
Hello Cheery,
it's been a while since I visited forumland on MSE so I'm just dipping a toe in to test the waters!
Lovely to read about all that's been going on with you.
