Mine are these - can't post stupid link on phone for some reason but easy to search for and at any rate there are loads of different ones! I wanted something that could get wet as well as cold.

I wouldn't try to plant seeds in them (but then I never plant seeds in gloves) but I reckon they'd be fine for most other gardening jobs, they were certainly fine weeding in the mud today! Not sure whether they'll be heavy duty enough for dry stone walling, might have to get something more hefty for that (but they can also be a bit looser/thicker - I wanted these quite tight fitting).6

Evening chums
Yes indeed thermal gardening gloves! Super exciting. I used them for a bit on Sunday when it was so foggy I could barely see the garden I was digging (slight exaggeration, but not much) and they kept me super toasty and dry, even when caked on the outside with mud. Definitely worth the 6 or 7 quid in my book!
Well. I feel I am slowly trying to drag myself through a thick soup of gloom at the minute. Most unlike me and I do NOT like it. Most of it is down to overwork (which will pass), with the rest made up of hormones and lockdown I think. Urgh.
Had a nice chat with the doc this morning about the thrush I've been having every month for over a year now Sorry, TMI but also I think it's important to 'normalise' these things sometimes (or at least normalise talking about them!) Had another swab and inspection the other day (that was fun - mask at one end, completely exposed at the other ) which has confirmed, yet again, that it IS thrush. Doc has suggested a new strategy to try and combat rather than just treat the symptoms so let's see if that'll work. She's also filling in the form for my prescription exemption (which I have because I had my thyroid removed - I'd not realised it's not automatic now and mine ran out in August last year, oops!) And I'm due my annual thyroid blood test this week so they're going to test iron levels too as apparently that can cause issues as well.
Anyway, that can be added to the list of things that has NOT helped my mood this week, but has fortunately passed now!
Moving on... and the exciting thing today is that our trees have arrived! so very exciting. Also daunting, as I am still SO scared I'm doing something wrong, and will !!!!!! neighbours/the council/Mr Cheery or they'll all be eaten by hares in the first week, or something. Taking lots of deep breaths...
Nothing financial to report. I've started Christmas shopping in earnest now, put in a giant (well, for me) order from a local toy shop whose owner I vaguely know so that's nice. Ordered my mum's birthday present, and must remember to dig out friend's daughter's present and get that in the post too. Pension money arrived yesterday so need to do some shuffling, and get this month's regular saver dosh transferred from the savings account.
Need to reinstate Monday is Money Day I think!
What else?? Nothing I don't think! Used up half a tub of pasta sauce that's been sat in the fridge, and some mozzarella (unopened) that I bought weeks ago, so at least that won't go off.
Off to read for a bit then listen to some kind of calming meditation or something to get out of my own head and have a restful sleep..
Sleep well lovely folks xx7 -
Oh Cheery, sorry to hear you’re struggling (I’m sure monthly thrush can’t help - that’s enough to drive anyone mad!). I had a really low day yesterday, with lots of random tearing up. You’re not alone. I’m not sure the media’s insistence that we should all be feeling Christmassy helps either. I hope you got a good night’s sleep and today is better.
Super exciting about the trees though! When do they get planted?

Thanks Vix xx sorry to hear you're struggling too xx
Trees are being planted as we speak! He did about 100 yesterday, and arrived about 8 this morning to start again. Glad he got a bit of good weather in yesterday as today is vile, all fog and sideways wind and rain. Don't envy him being out there at all, and I've got so many meetings and teaching sessions today I don't have time to dash out and offer him a cuppa! Although he did refuse all the ones I offered yesterday as he had his own giant flask - don't blame him...8 -
