Oh cheery! What a nightmare with Rusty! I hope she feels better soon.Well done on the DIY, it’s hard to try and fit decorating into normal routine isn’t it. We’re trying to paint the whole house but it seems to be taking forever as it’s just done in bits and pieces.Anyway keep up with your amazingness and keep us updated about rusty.6

Gosh, those vet bills are high ... but as you say, if there's treatment there, you want it, and it doesn't matter whether its a chicken or a cat or dog or anything. Hope Rusty seems better.
Great news on the woodland grant! And the diy - kudos for doing it in the evening, thats really something.2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
Thanks folks
Utterly exhausted today, as I unwisely stayed up too late (and drank too much) last nightTrying to make the weekend stretch a little longer... but goodness I've been useless today and am now completely ready for bed already
I was partly tempted to get a little bit more of the ceiling painted... but I might just fall asleep while holding the paintbrush
Payday today! But I'm not even sure I can be bothered fettling the banks, oh dear! At least I've not spent anything (although I did order a book about woodlands yesterday...) Speaking of which, I've now just emailed the guy who is hopefully going to be planting ours, so fingers crossed he'll be able to do it before Christmas (technically it's fine as long as it's in by March, but I'm excited!) We'll have to shell out for it, but then claim it back from the national park.
What else? Need to pop round and have a word with the farmer as we've finally decided what colour/style of tin roof we want on the stable block. So that'll need paying for at some point - also hoping that's going to get done over the winter.
Nowt else to report I think. One of my parcels for the weekend is still not here which is quite vexing as I ordered from this particular place as they had a much quicker delivery time than the other place I was considering - but they've now taken longer than the other place said they would! Pah!
Hey ho. Right, best go and do some loafing

Excellent progress Cheery. Hope Rusty gets well soon.

Thanks Fortune. She seems ok, although not properly back to her usual self, and at least we don't have to get any more antibiotics down her! Going back to the vets in a week.
In other news, had confirmation that our trees are arriving the week of 30th NovI'm still quite daunted but have joined lots of woodland Facebook groups and ordered a cheery book about Woodlands to try to get me all excited. Might put the Christmas tree up the same week in solidarity
Went to bed at 9 last night and fell straight asleep. Mr Cheery woke me up at 2 though and I had rotten dreams after that, too warm I think. Still feel wiped out today!6 -
Evening chums
How are we all? I've had a tired week, but managed to finish work before 6 every day (well, it was 6.30 today as I was doing some longer term plotting and scheming) so I've had some restful evenings at least. Still ready for the weekend though!
Got quite a few things I want to get done so have made a bit of a plan. Don't think I can do colours on the phone sadly!
7.30-9: WAKING UP
* let chickens out
* go for a walk (and hopefully seem geezers at farm to tell about roof and trees)
* blog post
* write to friend
9-12: ADMIN AND POTTERING
* meal plan for week
* dig out and wrap friend's present
* order Christmas and birthday presents
* ring mum
* banks/YNAB
* make damson gin!
1-4: ACTIVITY TIME
* washing
* bit of tidying
* change sheets
* outside pottering if weather not too vile
* finish painting kitchen ceiling beams
4-8: WINDING DOWN
* bit of batch cooking?
* possibly a bit of sewing
* something nice and wholesome for tea
Doing a Father Ted themed quiz with an old school friend in the eveningwe used to be obsessed when we were young, but we didn't exactly do brilliantly last time so this is our rematch
Pretty much given up on normal quizzes, which I confess I don't really enjoy much, but will definitely make an exception for Ted
I've got a plan for Sunday as well but I'm going to see how tomorrow pans out first, might need to roll a few things over...8 -
Hey Cheery, I love your lists! I really should make one, I’d probably get more done! Very exciting about the trees! I hope you have a lovely weekend.6

Ha, so of course I didn't get all that stuff done
However, I've had a reasonably productive day, so let's have a Ta Da list
* FINALLY finished knitting a pair of socks I started in June
* FINALLY finished painting the second coat on the kitchen ceiling beams - hooray!
* FINALLY got round to making damson gin with the damsons I shoved in the freezer weeks ago
* Had a nice (if rather chilly) walk round the block
* Had a couple of long family phone conversations
That's about it really, so barely anything off the list but I'm delighted to have got to the end of several things that have been lingering for a while.
Going to change the sheets now, and perhaps get into them to have a sneaky nap before the quiz
Finances tomorrow - although the weather is meant to be a bit better, so perhaps they'll wait til it's dark...6 -
Well, this is indeed a revelation
One of my splurges for our luxury weekend (spending what we'd put aside for a holiday) was a set of 600 thread count sateen sheets
Is this how the other half live?? Wow. I don't know how anyone ever gets out of bed. They are glorious.
I'm normally more of an wilkos flanelette girltraditionally more of necessity but lately more out habit. It never occurred to me to buy luxury bedding, but now I fully intend never to get out of bed again
Speaking as someone used to a wilkos set though they weren't exactly cheap11 -
Don't you find the high thread count bedding a bit slippy though? We joke that we'll just slide out the bed
. We only have one set and they are lovely, but am usually glad to get back to the cheap as chips cotton flannelette, just to have abit of traction for getting out of bed!
