Cheery_Daff said:...it's STILL not arrived
it's a repeat, I ordered it through the NHS app last Saturday, tried to collect on Wednesday but it hadn't arrived at the chemist, thought it would definitely have arrived by now, but no. Checked the app and it's been approved, just not sent to the chemist.
I've repeatedly had bad experiences with the idiotic staff at my 'middle of nowhere' doctor's office. Despite being set up on their online ordering system for my prescription to be sent to the pharmacy & then for the meds to be delivered to my home, I have to actually write this every single time in the additional instructions box! If I forget to spell it out, I then have to call the doctor's office to ask what they have done with my repeat & then call the pharmacy to ask why it's not been delivered!!! I constantly wonder how hard it is to look at what's set up in the system & follow through?4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!7 -
Out of interest, Cheery, what was the ONS voucher thing about? I'm intrigued!
I've put my name down to potentially be a research subject for testing any new Covid vaccine on people with underlying health conditions, and/or of certain ages, when that stage is reached.
There's no obligation at this stage, and you might never be asked, as you might not fit the criteria for any particular vaccine project.
Will be interesting, though!(I just lurve spiders!)

RT, I've had similar issues with having to 'remind' them every time, or going to collect from chemist, they don't have it, so I have to go to doctors anyway (so what's the point of setting up the automatic transfer??) Grr. Do I really have to ring them every single time to check they've done it??
I confess I have sent in a 'suggestion' using their online form that they reconsider their decision not to give us multiple prescriptions, and set out exactly why it is inconvenient (not least because I now have to p*ss about during working hours, when theoretically I should be able to order through the app and collect on Saturday morning!) Grr.
Anyway. Pyxis - I got invited to take part in a different Covid study - not a vaccine one, the one being run by the Office for National Statistics. Sadly you can't just volunteer to participate, you have to be invited (I think it's a random sample, although it did also say 'you've been invited because you completed another study for ONS and agreed to be contacted in future' so who knows.. Anyway, someone comes to our house every week for a month, and every month for a year, and we have to do swabs. Then we get vouchers, which is very exciting!
Urgh, NOT getting on very well today. I'm cold and just CANNOT get my act together. Barely done anything except online stuff today. I KNOW I'll be annoyed if I don't go outside!9 -
I was feeling very cold, too, so did half an online zumba video class.
The internet started playing up, so I had to stop, but by then I was hot, anyway!
I don't have any floor-covering on half of my ground floor, so with the north wind blowing through the air bricks, downstairs can get very cold. It does get me exercising a bit, though.(I just lurve spiders!)

It's chilly today, isn't it - I went a walk to the local village, the trust worthy charity shop still isn't taking donations, but at least I checked. And got warm.Awful to hear about the prescription faffing, RT and Cheery, you have my sympathies2023: the year I get to buy a car7

I was going to say i'm glad ir's not just me with the prescriptions, but i'm not, really! Wish it was easier for all of us!!
I togged up and came outside, and i'm glad I didpeened my scythe (banged it to make it properly sharp again), and then cut a couple of rows of the field. Hard going because it's far too late now and it's all flattened, and the wind's blowing in the wrong direction. Stopped in the end because I disturbed a frog!
Listened to an interesting podcast about farming in the local area which was nice to hear - there's a book out that I'd been considering buying so I might do that.
Also cleaned out the chicken house, and just shut them in so we're sitting with a cuppa while they have some treats and calm down for the evening

I'm struggling with the last of the grass too Cheery. And it's full of baby frogs, so I can't risk strimming or mowing instead. I think I'll have to make sure I start earlier next year!6

I'm seriously considering paying someone to scythe our hay meadow next year. Part of me would rather do it myself, but it's almost an acre and realistically between work etc it just takes so long.
If not though, I'll definitely be having more of a push earlier. I like to wait til nearly the end of July, but this year I don't think I started til mid August, and then focused far too much on turning and drying etc rather than cutting, which for me at any rate, is more important.
Of course it's looking like we're going to have almost 2 acres of baby trees planted by next summer so I'll somehow need to cut between them toodefinitely seeming like a good idea to get someone else to do the field, and I'll do round the trees as and when - and won't be trying to make hay there so no turning etc.
Definitely need both a PA and a farm hand round hereor to be MF so I can go down to 2 days a week!!
