Fantastic on the overpayments, thats a great goal - great achievement too, by the way!Laughing at the chickensWhat you've written about the little overpayments is really what the paying the mortgage off is all about on here - £8.21 isn't much on its own, but you do it over and over, and it *really* adds up. Woo hoo2023: the year I get to buy a car9

I reckon I could stick another 5 years if I knew I'd be MF at the end of it - could probably drop down to 2 days a week then
Hmm, will keep calculating

Just realised I had £8.21 sat in Prolific so I've cashed that out and it can go the mortgage as well when it arrivesFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Ha BB, I'm very impressed that you know that!! I think if I'd worked out my hourly interest rate I'd be even more motivated to pay it off!!
Not much to report today. Just spoke to new garage - apparently old garage didn't drop my car off til this afternoon. Honestly - I took it to them last Thursday! They did MOT and realised they couldn't fix the rest on Monday. Anyway, now this garage understandably can't do anything til Monday, which is fine actually because I can't go and get it til Tuesday anyway - and if it's ready then I can combine with getting the new laptop from work.
How very tiresome this business all is!
No other money news. Head is all work work work right now - nothing dreadful just far more busy than I'm used to with no space to think. Just downloading something which will take another 3 mins so sneaked into here!
Might have to have another cuppa - going to be trudging through this lot for a little while now I think...9 -

Morning MSE chums
Nice cafe trip this morning, then thought I'd pop into town to collect my prescription - glad I rang them first though as it's STILL not arrivedit's a repeat, I ordered it through the NHS app last Saturday, tried to collect on Wednesday but it hadn't arrived at the chemist, thought it would definitely have arrived by now, but no. Checked the app and it's been approved, just not sent to the chemist. Of course the doctors isn't open today, so that's yet another thing to sort out on Monday.
Honestly, I am already at the end of my tether for sorting out minor stupid life inconveniences between the car and work technology this week - don't need to add prescriptions in as well!
In fact I'm minded to send the surgery an email suggesting (again) that they enable the facility where we can have a year's worth of prescriptions at once and lodge them at the chemist, and just collect them one at a time. YAWN.
Anyway.
The sun was shining before but it's not now. Not raining though, so I'll get out and about in the garden once I've drunk this tea. Rusty chicken is limping again - I've given her some more anti-inflammatory as it stopped when she was taking those and started again when the medicine stopped - will give her more for a few more days then see how she gets on. Vet thought there wasn't anything major wrong, just soft tissue damage. Hate to see her limping though!
So, some lists. What I've already achieved today!
* cafe trip (yes, that counts!!)
* planned goals etc for October
* tried (and failed) to collect prescription
* wrapped presents for two friends and actually managed to get them to the post office
* arranged for a friend to come for lunch tomorrow.
Not bad for a morning's work! For the rest of the day...
* check banks
* defer half marathon place (the whole half marathon is deferred, of course, but apparently I have to fill in a form or else they just take my money but don't let me have a place next year, the fiends)
* peen scythe and cut some more hay
* put washing away
* clean out chicken house
* plant out fuchsia I bought in the village shop last week that's dying in its tiny pot
Think today might be a bit of a battle to stay cheerful...

Ok. A marginally productive hour.
* Checked banks - all in order. Mr Cheery's monthly pension arrives this coming week so can do a bit more fiddling before the end of the month. Remembered to increase allocation to cover new mortgage overpayment!
* £8.21 arrived from Prolific so I've paid that straight off the mortgage - LOVE being able to do that easily now I've set them up on the banking app!
* deferred half marathon place (no idea why they've got my old address but I've updated it now)
Hmm, thought I'd done more than that but apparently not
Got some leftover frittata in the fridge so going to heat that up for lunch, then I'm going to wrap up and get outside - it's cold today and very tempting to spend the whole day under a blanket!8 -
Oh, I know what else I did - another Prolific survey for 38p, and YouGov sent me a message saying I'd not done a survey for a year
so I did one and am now up to a grand total of £19.20. Probably another 10 years before payout but it'll come quicker if I actually do the surveys I suppose!
