Cheery - just love the thought of a festival style tent for guests! I'm always amazed with your creativity!💗💗💗
Hmm - my early story seems to have lost the plot now that I read it back...
...the actual point was the hilarity of someone labelling me as gracious 🤣🤣🤣...

RT, we knew what you meant!
Ha, a 'festival-style tent' makes it sound rather more exotic than it actually is It's basically just a big umbrella parasol thing, and a giant (rather grubby) clear plastic tarp draped over the washing line, propped up with bits of pipe and pegged to the ground in various places. It does have bunting though, and a couple of benches, and when it's not raining QUITE so much we've put more tarps and blankets on the floor (but it was a pretty swift east wind today with sideways rain so we didn't both with that bit...)
So. Banks and YNAB checked - all in order (if we ignore the ludicrous 'chickens' category, that is...) Still no refund from Avanti so they've had a snotty email - I first contacted them well over 6 weeks ago, and have now sent the requested pictures of the cut up tickets that I never used TWICE - the first time they replied to my email that had the photo attached saying 'please send us the photo', and then when I sent it AGAIN, they didn't bother replying at all. That was well over a month ago - and they'll be getting emails every few days now til they sort it out.
Just made an extremely tasty risotto in the oven. Just onion, celery, some frozen peppers, a tin of chick peas, a load of rice (just normal long grain rice), and a couple of stock cubes (and some water!), oh, and the last rinsing of a jar of passatta I used for something else the other day. Had two bowls and now fighting not to go back and have another
In 'admin' mode now though - wonder what else I can sort out before it wears off??

Cheery.....your oven risotto....do you put all the raw ingredients together, with raw rice, into the oven?
If so, that sounds very easy!
How much water do you use?
I'm all for dead easy, bung-it-all-in-together stuff, and that would make a change from my usual stirfry method.

Don't go asking me for specifics! I'm not exactly a recipe follower
I fried up onion, celery, peppers in a metal casserole pan thing, mixed in chick peas, raw rice, then added stock cubes and water and bunged it in the oven. Checked after about 10 mins and added more water as all mine had gone, then checked after another 10 mins or so and it was cooked! Dead easy, only one pan (but obviously that depends on you having something you can use as a pan AND put in the oven...) I reckon less rather than more water to start with, then check after 10 mins - nobody wants a soggy risotto and it's easier to add water than take it away...
Right. Next bit of admin done - listed all the places locally who sell the new breed of chickens we want, and whether they have some available, and phone numbers. Got five potentials - one I've already emailed, one gets new batches every few weeks, one has a waiting list for July birds, and one seems to have some in stock - will ring them tomorrow.
Bit of a delicate dance - we've booked for a couple of rescues, but that was before Bessie got ill and Mr Cheery decided he wanted something more hardy... Don't want to ditch the rescues unless we can get others very soon - but don't want to get others AND rescues within a couple of weeks of each other, so it all depends on when things are available...

I thought I had, but just discovered I hadn't so have now remedied that!
(I went out at 5.30am to exercise the car, and that upset my usual morning MSE routine. 😂)(I just lurve spiders!)

This is a great oven baked risotto recipe that can be adapted to suit whatever you have in the fridge.4
