You too! I think this year's diaries will be really quite interesting. Don't forget to include the declaration when you send it in! I love reading some of the books that come of them - Nella Last's Diary is the most famous one of course, made into the film Housewife, 49 with Victoria Wood. One day I'd love to get down to have a look at the archives myself (they're in Brighton I think) - not much chance of that at the minute!9

What a fabulous idea - and what an interesting place that would be to work (although would be extremely difficult not to be constantly distracted by reading them!)Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!6 -
I wanted to get onto the Mass Onservation thing a few years ago, but it clashed with a full-on holiday abroad and although they told me I could do it, I just felt it might all be a bit too much with the full days and travelling, etc.
Then when they were advertising for people, they only really wanted younger men, as it seems they had plenty of older ladies, but hardly any younger men!(I just lurve spiders!)

What a waste of a talent, to have her cut off in her prime.
Last year I watched some repeats of Dinner Ladies, and it reminded me what a genius she was. What a cast, too. Inspired.
And of course......the sublime Ballad of Barry and Freda.
The most immortal line in history ever just has to be:

Ay up Cheery m'deary!
Would it be in order to hijack your thread to say a massive 'ta' to themadvix for posting the link to the Riverford 'Masala Roast Carrots with lentils' recipe on 1st May 2020? I got round to cooking it tonight, with some less than youthful carrots that had been bought as part of the Easter offering in........ mrL? Anyhoo, roasting was just the ticket to enhance their sweetness and flavour, and the masala coating is something a bit different - although I added salt & pepper too. I didn't roast any onions, but did use onion, garlic and ginger paste in my lentils instead.
Super YUM! and used up produce that we had (avoiding waste) all other ingredients we had in the store cupboards (although I'll admit to not being a huge fan of dried curry leaves - much prefer the 'fresh' version - although they are impossible to get now). Served with basmati rice, so made a nice teaHijack over- take care Cheery & chums

Hey!! A lesser spotted Greying! Don't run off, we miss you!! Xxx
Thank you for popping by though 😁😁 what an absolute joy to see you 💜💜💜 Hope you and yours are well during these weird old times. Do let us know xxx
Very glad you posted! And also mentioned that recipe, as I too, well, I didn't exactly make it, but I was 'inspired by it'... 😂 And my oddball version was very tasty indeed!
Just been making up the sofa bed - Mr Cheery's bruised ribs are NOT resulting in a good sleep for either of us... and I quite like the little sofa bed in my study. Sadly the last person to put it away trapped the handle inside (SO easy to do, I've done it myself) so it was quite the fiasco and I'm rather more in the mood for a stiff drink than a restful night's sleep! Also need to make some curtains for that room as we have none, and it involves ludicrous draping of random materials whenever anyone stays. Didn't think it was worth bothering with given the circumstances but clearly it will benefit me too!
Right, bed. I'm sure I'll be asleep in 5 minutes once I'm there. Do pop by again soon lovely Greying! Xx8 -
How did Mr. Cheery bruise his ribs?
What have you been getting up to? 😄😄(I just lurve spiders!)

Nothing exciting I promise you!! He tripped over a pile of crap in our building site kitchen and landed awkwardly on the edge of an electric heater
Been in pain for several weeks now!
Anyway, I had a glorious night's sleep in the spare bed, and it's so cheerful in here (it's the sofa bed in my study) that I'm still hereI've had a shower and got dressed and had breakfast, and am happily ensconced back in the bed with my laptop. Might just stay here all day - can't get back at the desk without putting the bed away and I'd quite like to sleep in it tonight too!
