We have similar discussions about where's best to buy a car from... DH is quite happy to buy privately, but my family would rather go to a garage. Actually, DH is off to help a colleague look at a car tomorrow, so it's a very relevant topic at the moment in this house!

I think they'll be grateful for anything treat-like today, the poor things are right having their feathers ruffled in this wind! :eek: And we went out for the morning and their run door blew shut, so they were sheltering in our porch when we got back
Poor things. Shut them in the run properly now - it's nice and sheltered and warm in there so there's really no point them being out in this weather. Brrr.
So, very impressed with myself today as I remembered the nectar point double up thing :j :j Spent an hour wandering round, checked a couple of things with a member of staff cos I wasn't sure they'd count - and of course when I got to the till, they didn't :eek: :rotfl: :rotfl: Caused a massive hold up and had to go to customer services:rotfl:
Anyway, it worked eventually after MUCH faffing - if you're doing the same thing, 'beer wine and spirits gifting' is not the same as 'Christmas gifting' (even if your mini bottles of port gift set is in the Christmas gifting section), and my normal moisturiser (which I just bought to bump it over the total) does not (apparently) count as 'facial skincare' (what on earth is it then?!)
Also you have to be OVER the voucher amount (or within 5p) or you can't use it :eek: What a fiasco!!
Still, we now have presents for one of my nephews, my sister, my auntie, Mr Cheery's niece, great niece, nephew and sister, and a friend's daughter. I've got a couple of extra things to go with a couple of them already, and we'll likely supplement with a couple of edible things (possibly home made, although if we're still without a kitchen probably not). But still, not a bad haul for a 'free' £60 :money:
Still got £20 of Boots points, and £15 in the co op (which might go on the edible things).
Sadly still have the 'difficult men' presents left to get :eek: Mostly edible I think :rotfl:
And now we're home and it is SO COLD I basically just want to go to bed and stay there til April :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Cheery I've doubled up mine but I'll likely be investing in towels or cookware. I really needed it for food gifts to make up my in laws hampers. Hey ho. Your faff makes me recoil. The things we do huh?2020 Fashion on the Ration Challenge 4/66 coupons spent

Morning MSE chums :hello:
Please don't be put off by my nectar palaver! Just make sure if you are in doubt about anything you check with a member of staff BEFORE you get in the queue :rotfl: Mind you, I DID do that, and he was *fairly* convinced that something with 'gifting' in the title would count as, er, 'gifting', and even the main till staff seemed confused - we had to swap things in and out until we figured it outSo just be prepared to cause a scene
:rotfl: :rotfl:
Anyway, much excitement here. Mr Cheery has been experimenting with selling a couple of things he'd had for a while online, and one of them turned out to be rather more sought-after than even he had imagined :eek: We almost fell off the sofa last night when it went for several times what we'd originally thought :eek: :eek: :eek: Anyway, the money is now in our bank account, and we'll be delivering it by hand tomorrow :eek:
Slight vexed (with my tongue in my cheek of course) as I basically cleared out both of my regular savers completely to pay the builder the other week, and under the terms I can't pay that money back into those high interest accounts :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Most vexing :rotfl: :rotfl:
BUT I'm aware that's a bit of a 'my diamond shoes are too tight' type of complaint :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll put it in the post office account (which pays 1.49%) and be damn grateful not to be worrying about whether or not to fix the boiler
Sun is shining now (for once!) and we are off for a wander round a local nature reserve :j I've been before, but not for about 15 years :rotfl: actually managed to persuade Mr Cheery to come with me, and he's never been, so that will be nice :j Mind you, it's starting to cloud over again now, so...0 -
Oh, and in other :money: news
I just cancelled my work-based subscription that I kept talking about, so that's £22 a month saved :eek: I do like the thing I'm subscribing tobut I'm not sure I like it THAT much to pay £264 a year, given what it is
:rotfl:
Also remembered that I'd changed Mr Cheery's giffgaff monthly bundle thing from £6 to £15 when the builders were here and our normal internet thingy had been put in the loft and then the floor removed below it :rotfl: Meant we barely had any normal wifi access (it wouldn't reach from the loft), and because there was no floor, we couldn't go and move it :rotfl: Had to up his mobile internet, and find one of my old phones - but we don't need that any more.
Fortunately remembered to change it - last date for changing this month is 17th so I've just made it :j So that's back down to £6 again :j0 -
That's a lot of Financial Goodness! As well as a trip to a nature reserve, always like that. Hope it keeps sunny for you.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thank you! :j Yes we did indeed have a jolly trip out to the nature reserve, thank you
Got a bit soggy mind you :rotfl:
So. I find myself with 3 hours (ish) to myself, and I've already spent one of them roaming round the internet :eek: In a useful way - but there are other things to do too!
So here's a list of things I'd like to do... and then I'll put them in some kind of order and tick them all off:j
* YNAB and banks (payday is Monday)
* Tidy living room
* Clothes out of bathroom
* Washing on
* Washing hung up (once it's washed, of course :rotfl: )
* Tidy bedroom (this might be an ongoing, multi-day affair)
* Establish place for all the Christmas presents I've bought so far
* Bit of flute playing
* Bit of MB
Ok, that's probably enough :rotfl: :rotfl: Will make a proper list...0 -
I've just checked and there are FIVE straightforward MB casino offers I can do tonight, so rather than sitting and doing them all in a row in stare-eyed fashion like I usually do, I'll spread them between other tasks so I'm getting up and moving! :j
