Hello smokeybabe!! Glad to hear you are getting on ok

Have a fantastic time in Spain chalky

Well, my whinging must have finally paid off as OH has moved the boxes into the loft :j. Finally, I get the kitchen back

He is in a very motivated mood today so were are going to do some bits to the house. I will clean the bathroom/kitchen/utility and he will mow the lawn and tidy the garden.

Chicken curry for dinner - cooked the rice last night, the chicken is currently marinating, so will pop the oven on later and thats it!

    Have a good one

Mrs Mix, sorry about your fall, but congrats on your win.
Sorry to hear about your hair Sunshine, my dd once tried to dye her dyed blond hair black for a Draculafest & her hair went purple!!
Mioliere my lodger is from Jamaica, she is a very sweet person at heart, but though she is 27, she acts like a 12 year old a lot of the time, I'm pretty sure she is looking for a job nearer her friends in London, so no doubt she'll be moving on soon.
I've not long got back from DD's, I went to babysit DGS. I blitzed her kitchen while I was there so that's one less thing for her & DSIL to do today. DSIL works days & DD works nights & she's nearly 7 months pregnant with DGD (we think).
Still lovely & quiet here, hubby has TV on but at least it's not competing with music as well.
    Hope everyone has good day,
    hugs Hester

Morning Everyone, hope you are having a good weekend.

I need to share or I'll cry!

I'm NOT having a successful weekend with colours at all. Firstly I dyed my "dyed blonde" hair (a natural dark brown) last night = gothic black result (sigh! panic!! sigh again!!! :o ).

    xx

I've heard that copious amounts of head and shoulders can help minimise unexpected hairdye experiences

    Afternoon all

just said bye to ddad so a bit sad. he is getting a bit forgetful and keeps telling me all about this rory bremner show he saw on friday - trouble is I took him. It was funny when we were there as well cos he kept saying loudly - "who's that meant to be then - oh - well what's he famous for?" all the way through. he is with dbro this afternoon and will come back to mine on monday afternoon to sort out some pension stuff - we won't be here though - yay we're going to blackpool to see the lights and the dr who museum :j :j

rest of today will involve putting the house to rights, packing and printing out our itineraries, maps etc and making a mega packed lunch for the train.

Re hair dye - dd phoned me one day so upset that she couldn't get the words out and was just sobbing something terrible - i thought something had happened to dgs. her friend had dyed her hair blonde - it hadn't taken so they had done it again and it was prawn coloured. It cost £60 at headmasters to put straight but such a good job that when the hair grew out you couldn't see the "Join". I was so releived that it wasn't anything to do with dgs that I paid. I did mine red-black the other day and I can only see black but everyone else can see red so it might not be that bad after all - get an honest opinion from someone who loves you and also has to be seen out with you.

Well must go cos I'm putting off packing which I loathe

Afternoon all, thanks for the birthday wishes for DH he is really excited :j :j Cake is fine and decorated(not in the Mrs Mix league of course but ok) He was very surprised as I have never made him a cake before(not been able to get any pressies at the mo- we will have an "unbirthday" soon- when I get some money) so nothing TOO special just a nice quiet relaxing day. Have got all the stuff ready for his treat dinner and have made some fudge(which he has no idea about) also got a bottle of wine also a surprise, so today should be nice.

    Hi everyone

Just had a quick scan through the thread.

    Welcome to new posters.

Sunshine - so sorry to hear about your problems this weekend re hair and covers. Can't offer a cure but good luck!
Kyle/Twink - glad to have you back Kyle. So sorry some aspects of holiday not too good, especially the flight. Nothing you can do about it and tough for the rest of the passengers. Cabin crew should be sympathetic. One of my memorable Florida moments was the Space Centre (we were based in Miami with my brother). Twink, hope the painting has gone well and that you have battened down the hatches with your greenhouse.
Jo's Mum and Annies DH - Happy birthday!
Mrs M - so sorry about your fall but so well done with your win.
Bon voyage to Chalky - she is now sailing so probably won't read this. What an adventure.
Stef - I know you have had a good time with your Dad and sorry to hear he is a bit confused. Just treasure the memories.

One or two wine induced sore heads this morning methinks!

Meanmarie - yes, well, I know but the feel good factor took over yesterday. Suitably chastised by your post! Only did 3 hours today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to work for me tomorrow. Finished back garden this morning when it was actually a bit cool. Still a few minor things to do but the huge clear-up done and hopefully not much now until the Spring. DH hurt his back dragging up the garden recycle bin - I had totally put too much in it! However, took neighbour's bin up to pavement before we fed it and it is now full too. Not having done an autumn clear up last year has been a sore lesson. Will not let things get out of hand again.

Feel good about everything done over the last week. I think I am far more focussed than I have been over the last couple of years.

A bit worried about folk who are mentioning starting writing cards etc for Christmas! I usually get round to printing my labels off mid November. I have everyone's address in Word Labels, a wee Christmas symbol and it fairly cuts down the card writing not having to do the envelopes. It also lets me know know who's card I have written - if the label gone, card written!
