    Sorry to resurrect my own ancient thread, but I'd just like to say a heartfelt thanks to everyone that responded when I first posted that desperate message...

    I now have a gorgeous eight week old son, happy and healthy, and he's officially the best thing that's ever happened to me :)

    A baby's not that expensive. Breastfeeding is free and I found child benefit covers nappies and basic clothes. You can buy second hand cot/buggy etc if you need to.
    Themain thing a baby needs is love and care and as others have said, thats free!
