Evening KC.. glad to hear you had a good day, it sounds great! Big GRRR to your bank though
As for the food I know what you mean!! Have you tried making your own pesto? Lots of recipes over on Old Style. I got some lovely stuff from Home Bargains recently as well, 69p a jar if I remember rightly!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hiya!
Making your own is a good idea... the minute I get back from this time away, I'm going to really work hard on growing salady things, like basil, lettuce, even cress - when I was working on the garden while the builders were here, I set up an old windowbox with drainage stones, just got to get some compost in it now (and clear up the debris around it). Trouble with Waitrose pesto is, its addictive to me, its a very particular taste, and I adore it. Lightbulb: maybe this is how Hypno feels about her lattes! Ah!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Is there a Lidl near you? They might have good pesto.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

There's one not too far away. But, no one makes it quite like Waitrose - its the mix of the ingredients for some reason - Tesco,Sainsbury, M&S, they just don't compare. I have Somerfield down here too, so I might try them too. I think its important to start growing a bit of my own too, so basil, lettuce, radishes, cress, the really easy stuff. Mid June is when I'll do that.
Seaxwyn, how are you? I'm going to hop over to your thread, I know you were having work issues.... hope you've got some light on the horizon.
Today, I have a phone call mystery shop, quite a bit of Work work, and admin - couple of phone calls, a letter. Boring - in fact, not boring, I *hate* this kind of admin, the behind the scenes stuff is better, this is about queuing in some call system and then pushing for what you want, and I hate that. Ah well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
You see, I'm really tempted to try Waitrose pesto as a treat now.. but scared of its addictive qualities! :rotfl:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Well, yesterday didn't go too badly - did the mystery shop and input data, wrote the letter tho haven't yet sent it, tried one of the phone calls but couldn't get through. I also resized all the magazine photos I took last week, to put onto preloved/gumtree - and found out quite how shaky my hands still were! Ah well, they're good enough.
Today:
- go to the post office to get two stamps for French snail mail. Then print the letter out and post it.
- have 3.5 hours of Work work.
- phone call to my credit card company I didn't do yesterday.
- *two* applications from potential clients! Can't remember the last time I got two enquiries in one day. That means things are bad financially in the country, when my enquiries go up....
I feel really hassled, because there's lots of *bits* I need to do, but actually things aren't too bad. I do need to start preparing to go away - fancy dress party on the Saturday night, lots of printing to do before then, more photos etc.... oh! Those are for things that are supposed to be *good*!!! I forgot that!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Right, first one is done, except for the trip out to the postbox - that'll be quite nice in this weather, tho.
Fancy dress is themed, Dragon - the 60s (there was a season 2 episode that took them back to 1969...) I have colourful sari pants, I'll tie a scarf around my head, a vest top with lots and lots of beads, dangly earrings, big blue eyes and lots of eyeliner, and I'm done! :rotfl:I'd like to use one of my pashminas as a shawl, but its a very definite look; if I can find the one I knitted back in the day (age 15!) I'll use it.
