:rotfl: :rotfl: Still making me laugh to read yesterday's posts!

Not doing so much today, tho I should be. Fed up with being around here, and missing out on all the social stuff I had planned for the time I was actually ill, so I'm off to London, to see an exhibition at the Woolwich Arsenal, based around the TV series Sharpe, but actually honouring the soldiers of the Napoleonic War. And since, in the female line, I'm descended from an Irishwoman who followed her army sergeant husband through Spain and France, I'm keen to see it. I don't care if I fall asleep on the train home!

Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Have a lovely day, i saw a similar exhibition a few years ago..totally fascinating their lives, and the strength of character they displayed.

    Good stuff:
Yesterday was great - some of the actors were there - Hugh Fraser, who played Wellington, Jason Salkey, who played Harris, and one of the tough little lads who were in the background. Some really entertaining stories about filming in Turkey and buying Russian nightsights from the mafia. "I'm not afraid of very much any more", said Jason!

There were re-enactors there too, and I got a good look at the kit, and demonstrations of how they'd use it, so it was well worthwhile.

And then I went and had tea at Canary Wharf with a friend and admired the river - its so beautiful there, and cos its on a bend, you see*such* a lot of river!

    Bad stuff:
my bank are claiming I never banked the £166 missing from my account. I may be bad at arithmetic, but I certainly banked the cheques, something's gone wrong. I felt sick, to be honest. I could ask my clients to cancel the cheques and write them out to me again, but what if they've been cashed already by someone else? And the bank can't even tell me which cheques they claim they've never seen, not till Thursday at the earliest. They already mentioned compensation, since I was so adamant that I'd cashed them, so thats good. I'm prepared to move banks over this, so they'd better see me okay.

    Good stuff:
I've just done a mystery shop, which if all goes well will pay £25. And I had to do some shopping, so the bus fare didn't cost me anything.

    Bad stuff:
I'm starting to freak a little bit about prices. Tesco feta went up 8p from 99p to £1.07, and Sainsbury Value mayo went up from 35p to 42p, okay... but now, the Waitrose pesto I'm addicted to has jumped from £1.25 to £1.79!!!!! I'm going to have to cut down further - I still use way too much each time, which isn't good for my stomach, incidentally.
