Sweetie, you can have as much cheese as you like, unless it gives you tummy ache! I love cheese too, I can't tell you how awful it is to become allergic to it. And sometimes I can't resist, and the last time that happened I gave myself a full blown migraine!

Hugs to you, anyway, take care (stupid thing to say, of course you're taking care!)

Does it cause IBS-type symptoms KC? Sorry if that's rude to ask :o I'm just trying to figure out which foods cause which symptoms for me.
I get really swollen cheeks if I have cheese and my ears feel like they need to pop for days. Not nice.

It can do, yes - don't worry for asking :rotfl: but the migraine was even worse, to be honest. Swollen cheeks and ears popping sounds *incredibly* uncomfortable, you can't relax feeling like that. I think there must be more lactose in the cheese these days, and more gluten in the flour, thats why we have these intolerances and allergies.

I'm intolerant (prejudiced against!) of wheat, cow's milk, sugar, chocolate and coffee. And as a vegetarian, that makes eating out incredibly difficult.

What really helps is to stay off those foods - the wheat, cow's milk and chocolate are the worst - and exercise. Even half an hour's stiff walk each day is enough to fend off the IBS. What do you do, do you have any techniques to manage it?

Perhaps, I wouldn't be surprised, I haven't eaten processed food for years so can't really be that.
Wheat, cow's milk and coffee and allergic to nuts for me. I don't eat meat either but do eat fish, I was getting protein deficient when I first became veggie and now I love seafood far too much. Sod's law says I'll end up intolerant to that one day too

It's a nightmare isn't it. Exercise? Really not heard that. I can't manage it at all at the moment - that's why the drs are checking it isn't something more serious.
All I can tolerate at the moment is apple juice, smoked salmon, plain fish, bread rolls, Frosties, soya milk, bananas, green beans, sweetcorn and pasta. It's all I've eaten for about nine weeks now.

Blimey Gemz!!! You poor thing! I've only just checked on my diary, just seen your post. Thats awful!!! At least you have a range of stuff you can eat, but its a tiny, tiny range. Exercise.... it not only gets things going the right way, but it tautens everything up, including our gut muscles, so they work more efficiently, extract more of the nutrients from what food we eat, so its a win win - a half hour regular walk will do that for me. Awful that you can't actually manage it at the mo - I'm glad you're getting it checked out medically, thats way beyond "usual" ibs symptoms.

Sending hugs your way - you sound like you need it... my smiley hug won't launch, but sending several your way... take care

    xx

   Okay, I'm still annoyed enough to post the original thing that sent me to my diary. I'm *so* p*ssed off with HSBC!!!! Its to be expected.... they haven't done anything other than be the sales organisation that these f******* companies are nowadays, but for some reason its really got to me today.

So. I had to send some money to subsidise my ratted French mortgage (can you tell I'm still angry? :D ) and I've sent a bit more than usual so that I can open a separate euro account with moneybookers or whoever and get the profits sent to my French account in euros - my dream is for my euro matched betting to be what I use to subsidise the French mortgage, not money from here that I pay tax on. Anyway.

You can do it online nowadays, but I couldn't do that cos my bank changed all the iban numbers etc (a takeover) and I wasn't sure I had the up to date ones - I'd just got myself into a muddle on that. So I wanted to do it on the phone one last time, to check all the numbers I had were right. They are, so I can do it myself now, if I ever have to do it again, that is.

What's really, really annoyed me about this call is all the sales pitches that take up telephone time that I'm paying for. I hate the big banks, I've always distrusted big business, being brought up a good socialist, and since coming on here I've learnt to distrust them even more. And they're making me pay for their sales claptrap!!!! I could scream! The more I can do things online, and not have to put up with this (and their horrible, horrible taste in muzak) the better.

EDIT - I know the other reason I was annoyed - they've changed the charging conditions, it was always 6 working days before, now they're calling that their express service that you have to pay more than double for!!! Yep, thats what got to me....

Normal service will now be resumed. :o:o:o

 Phew, back on balance. Bit tired, tho, didn't get to bed early enough. Ah well. Right, what's doing?

    - applied for, and been accepted, for mystery shopping at Performance In People, but no idea how they send out assignments, and can't see a way for shoppers to log on to the website. Anyone any ideas?

    - was doing a few £1 bingo sites yesterday, while scanning to declutter (yes, I keep going!) but nothing happened.

    - am most of the way through vic tor ch andler, and have just started working on the reload offer at p artyb ets.

    - I'm off to France next week, the dfw way! Getting to my sister's, fairly locally, then being driven, arriving about midnight.

    - and next month, I'm off to Germany, also the dfw way! I'm booking a Eurostar ticket in the next few days, and paying *entirely* from Tesco vouchers! My new passport is paid for, my electronic replacement for the E111 form is in my bag, and my travel insurance is free from the A&L account I opened to do my matched betting! How cool is that? :rotfl:

Wow that is impressive-must admit it makes my DFW flights look expensive.
Flights in July (ugh) to Vegas and back from Salt Lake City (it's a holiday of contrasts lol) Total original cost £680 x2 =£1360 .....actual DFW cost First ticket £620 as paid for with Mastercard and there was an offer to take 15% off the base fare-2nd ticket DFW cost £15 used amiles and money deal but the vast majority of the money was "paid" with vouchers from last year when we accepted a bump from an overbooked flight and travelled 45 mins later instead. So from £680 pp to £317.15 pp. Not quite free but I'm rather proud of this one.
Just need to find equally good deals for the hotels now-or get into MB to pay for it.
Had a competition prize arrive too 42 disc James Bond set-retails on Amazon for between £120 and £150 (new and used)so have put it on at £119 but thinking of knocking it down to £99 just to get some quick money. Will take a hit on postage but as anything I make will be pure profit I can live with that.

A dfw bank... wow. That would be good!

Duchy, don't I remember something about flights to and from America in about 3 days to qualify for this? Was that you or am I maligning you? Whichever, I'd rather be going to Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, than to France and Germany! Especially as my friend in Germany hasn't emailed me yet - if the eurostar tickets are gone, I'll just have to wait another week. I think she might be teed off with me, she suggested I come along on the Friday, to have the whole weekend with them, not just the Sunday, but by going on the Saturday, I can still work Friday, which is 40% of my weekly income, if I can work it that way, it seems crazy to me. She's never been in debt, and the only time she's been on a low income was when she was on benefits, so she doesn't really know what this is like :(
