Bother. My endowment policy is with L&G, so I'll have to ring them tomorrow to find out if an ISA counts as genuine new funds.
Edit: OTOH, I've already done the Tesco Eurostar order, didn't realise it was online, makes it very easy, very simple. Chuffed litte bunny here. Just time now to make a cup of coffee, have a bit of a wash, and settle down to watch Martin and Hypno.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
HUBBLE DETECTS ORGANIC MOLECULE ON AN EXTRASOLAR PLANET
14th March 2008:
WASHINGTON - NASA will hold a media teleconference at 2 p.m. EDT on
Wednesday, March 19, to report on the first-ever detection of the
organic molecule methane in the atmosphere of a planet orbiting a
distant star.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Well, yes.... but for space nerds.... which extrasolar planet? What other molecules are in the atmosphere? What's the surface like? Is the planet one of the gas giants, or Earth-like? How far away? What have they done since they found the molecule? How much will further investigations cost :money: ? Will they send me to have a look? (oops, that one slipped through, sorry... :rotfl: )2023: the year I get to buy a car0

If they're crowing over methane - you can bet your bottom dollar the other molecules aren't going to be water vapour - which is the biggie....
It'll have to be a gas giant - a rocky planet like Sol III isn't going to be big enough.
And given the distance, and the mix of molecules in the gas giants, and the fact this is the first time they've detected *anything*, I'd say it's only methane.
There you are - 3 wild guesses - shall we see if I'm right?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Space stuff......... WAAAAYYYY over my head...............but the DFW stuff very interesting, you do so well with the MB and everything else its really inspiring, I think I will start updating on my dieary what I have actually done that is DFW as at the moment I only resurrect it if I need a focus or have made an overpayment (not that often
). Its interesting reading what you have done that is DFW.
I know that you have mentioned before that when the debt has finished then it will be time to think about how you are going to get the house improvements done... I was just wondering if it was possible to do what Taxi and Hypno are doing with the seperate pot for the windows etc and doing one thing at a time? Just a thought as its so hard paying off all the debt while you think all the other stuff is sliding sometimes... I should know, I am definately going to give it some thought today and see if a bathroom *pot* of savings would help me stay focussed on the house improvement side of things so I don't end up borrowing for it. Rambling now sorry!
Anyway keep up the good work

Thanks, KM
it is odd to hear myself referred to as inspiring, cos I feel like a lump compared to some people on here. On the other hand, to be realistic, I do do as much as I can, I hate the lack of choice that being in debt brings me to.
Separate pots of money - you know, I've been posting on hypno's thread just this morning about windows, mine look okay from a distance, but they're letting in, and some plasterwork is a problem because of it. I think I'm going to do this. Not sure what account to use. I have a "spare" account at A&L that automatically got opened when I opened the basic account for matched betting, I could use that, actually. I don't want another website - I've got online stuff at .. one... two... three... four websites (thought I'd better not write down which ones in one place, that really is asking to be hacked!) so four will do, but another account in the same place would be fine. Right, I'm off!
Thanks KM
xx
PS - space stuff is "way over your head..." geddit? :rotfl: well I thought it was funny!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yes Karma you should be realistic and yes you are inspiring. From what I have read I am assuming you live alone so while 'comparing' yourself to others on here, factor in the fact you do not have someone to share the burden of bills like some of us on here do, so your DFW is actually more than you think if that makes sense. You do a lot of DFW 'stuff' along side working and looking after a home alone and you are actually funding TWO mortgages alone, now if that is not inspiring then I do not know what is! :T :A0

Hi Z - well yes, I think you're probably right on all counts (eg it was the gas giants that were first detected, so it stands to reason their atmospheres would be the easiest ones to analyse). But I want to be excited!
I loathe NASA as much as any other space nut, but at the mo, they're the only ones in this part of the game.
"And when we're on Mars,
We're halfway to the stars".
Imagine a group of space scientists and general space nuts singing that. That happened. I've got a lump in my throat now thinking about it. When I actually saw a space shuttle launch, I burst into tears! So....... methane  woo hoo....
