Karmacat: I'm passionate about my DFW journey to riches

:wave:Hi Z
The "third way" you describe is me exactly. For instance, when we were concerned about big Al Qaeda terrorist attacks just after 9/11, I realised that as I live really close to the European HQ of a major American organisation, and I did think about what to do in case of an attack on that, in various forms - apparently, which space you shelter in depends on what form of attack it is - you want mass between you and the outside world if its any form of nuclear/dirty bomb attack, but you want to be up high in as sealed a room as possible for any kind of gas attack. And always have lots of water on hand, that seems to be a constant.
:wave:Hi Panda
My thread is weird, isn't it :rotfl: I can prattle on about 80 lightspeed points or whatever, and then off to macro-economic land where great and serious matters are discussed, with a drive-by to the wonderful world of science fiction and Michael Shanks. Plus gardening. I think my favourite is Michael, and I can't wait for those DVDs to arrive from Australia. Oh god, I've just thought - what if my DVD player can't hack them? She said they'd play on a computer actually. Phew ... see, you can tell what really matters to me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
BTW, my mum is at least going to tell my sister about the money in the ISA, so thankfully she's not going to secretly give it to me and my brother. I really didn't want that - whatever else my parents have done, they've always been fair to all of us. My argument for her keeping the money for herself is that she wants to stay independent as long as possible - well, she'll need to employ help to do that. She already pays a windowcleaner and a man to cut the grass, she's just gone to a chiropodist, all this stuff costs money, she should keep it. I think she sees my point now - its just that, compared to what we had even when I left home to college, she's - rich, I guess - she doesn't quite know how to handle having money.
Isn't it a mad problem to have?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
My overpayment fund has just taken a boost - £30 cheque for a 40minute phone interview (crazy when the same firm will only pay me £10 for a total of 5 hours mystery shopping), plus I took the money out of an account I opened for another mystery shopping firm last year. The job is long finished, and tho the money isn't strictly dfw-earned, its been sitting there so long, I don't regard it as ordinary money, so its gone off to my overpayment fund. Which now stands at £418! Not long to go to the next one.
Bit surprised about my shopping yesterday - I spent £9.21 on food shopping, I could've sworn it was a couple of quid - bought a lot tho:
2.5kg potatoes
1kg sunflower seeds
400g feta
and a 12-pack of Walkers crisps - they were half price tho!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Cor! Not only was I """special""" for a little while, being on the main board an'all, when everyone else was banished to the Diary Sub Board Hinterlands, but Shaun has found me some Stargate smileys! Shaun, you star!!! Thank you so much!
So, its been pretty weird on the boards this afternoon, huh? I just got here by using User Control....... I'd better go to the board list proper and see what the dickens is going on.
