It sounds as though you are getting there KarmaCat and every £5 will add up after all! Is this trading money for something in particular or is it just additional money going into the general debt busting/savings pot?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Thanks ISOM! Yep, it'll add up :money: I'll start to stay in each trade for as long and only exit on the exit signal, instead of getting out early; and I'll increase the amount of money on each trade, gradually - at the moment, its only £1 - my aim is to have it up to £10 (the max you can do is £200, so £10 is prudent!).
All the money I get, whether trading or anything else, first goes to my mortgage overpayment account. And starting from now, when that amount reaches £10,000 (which it could do quite quickly if the trading now goes according to plan) I'll withdraw it to have some structural work on the house done. And I'll keep on doing that - there's a leaning wall, there's replumbing, rewiring, plastering, a new kitchen (this one was done in the 70s, I think, from the look of the tiles) - new flooring, after all that lot, the list goes on. I'm not actually going to pay off the present debt - its 5.7% fixed, which is a good rate for today, and I reclaim the interest because its for my French apartment, so its very tax efficient, I had my accountant work it out for me cos I've *no* clue how to do that.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

  You have a busy life, Taxi! As I was wittering the other day, between French apartments and spreadbetting, and associated feelings, quite a few of the things I write about are minority interests, even tho they're really important to me.
But I really, really want to get on top of my financial situation, and free up my life again, and I think I'm on the way now. I just need to learn to give myself enough time to do things, then everything runs much more calmly. I think thats important, to us "oldies" or to newcomers.
Off to work now for a while - back on later.
Thanks for posting, guys! :A :A2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
cor a tax efficient accountant, they are as rare as hens teeth...:rotfl:
Glad to see all the signals are working for you. I wish i understood it so that i could sound knowledgeable about the markets..alas i am only familair with the shopping kind..Where there is a good market there shall you find BOB:D Usually mooching i might add..not spending at the moment:cool:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
I didn't do anything this morning, Bob - I got up early enough, but had a really rough night's sleep - I was mentally begging The Powers That Be for it to be approaching dawn, so I could get up, but it was far too little sleep. And I ate badly yesterday so I felt bad all through. And I had to put the recycling out, which meant stacking all the recycled paper carefully, which took *much* longer than I thought.
And tho I haven't *finished* the French accounts, they're not an emergency issue any more, I phoned the French accountants, and January is fine, as I thought. I tell you, yesterday felt like a holiday after I got that news :j :j
Anyway, the plan for today is catchup - I've already made a good start, with getting all that recycling out of the way. Now its a question of tidying, maybe a bit of cleaning, and catching up on phone calls. Oh, and doing the bingo/gambling offers on quidco that make a profit so I can order some M&S vouchers.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
*ears !!!!! up a the thought that 'it could soon reach £10000'!*
Wow, it sounds like you're onto a winner with the trading. Wish I understood it - I haven't even a clue what it is you're trading, never mind how! Which bugs me as I'm not thick (most of the time) and I like to understand these things. But I don't and I won't as I've got a billion other things to try and sort out at the moment.
Great news about the extra month for the accounts. I've decided to give up on the idea of doing my tax return completely until after Christmas. I'm far more likely to get it done if there's a deadline involved and I've just got too much on the go at the moment. I know how you feel about the holiday feeling though, when I decided not to do it officially, it was like a weight off my mind. Although it will certainly return and be much heavier in January but I'll worry about that then.
Have a good day! Good luck with the Quidco stuff.
Edit: Oh !!!!!!, it's filtered out the word p r i c k!!!0 -
:rotfl: very sweet thought, little panda pricking up her ears! (I'm seeing a real panda in my head, of course, not *you*!).
Don't give the trading a second thought .... I'm really writing it just to have it in one place, I know its not going to reach a community of tradersin fact, if I thought I was going to reach many other traders, I probably wouldn't be able to post. DFW is my home!
With the accounts, I need time to make some queries to get other figures - there are so few outgoings in France, because its managed for me, that its actually very simple. Thank heavens!
Anyway, this morning, I've stuck to the tidying thing, which has felt better - I really need some clarity to be able to focus on the trading the way I need to. I mean, the news this morning! Shares in Woolworths are suspended! And the most likely option, on The Times website anyway, was administration. This is going to get much more serious yet.
Cuppa tea, a few nibbles, I'm off on quidco and ipoints. Have a good day all.
