  • I think cognitive behaviour therapy may well be DFW, as it can help establish new behaviour patterns, which after all is what we are on here for..could have very interesting results.

You're right, Bob - but research at the moment shows that the success of cognitive behaviour therapy, like every other therapy, actually depends on the success of the therapeutic relationship. My own experience (that bloke I went to last year, who was an NHS consultant charging £85 an hour in his private capacity) is that they don't have any training in therapeutic boundaries, so most of them aren't very good when it comes to holding a safe therapeutic space. Which makes them *potentially* quite dangerous.

Still, tho, if you want to *do* something, like I want to do the trading (and bother whats behind the fear, I don't care as long as it stops limiting me) then CBT is the thing to do!

Right, this is what I've done today. I'm about to stop!

    - beans in to soak for the slow cooker this evening
    - been rummaging about on here on different boards, about 7 or 8 I think.
    - been to ipoints, got about 50 points this morning, plan to do the Sun bingo offer this evening.
    - done a little bit of qype, tho not as much as I thought I would.
    - done my two scratchcards
    - printed out the phone mystery shops for tomorrow - that will leave me free during trading time to *focus* on trading, then take a quick breath and do the shops.
    - done two daily gmtv comps, tho not some other comps I had planned. Can do those while I've got bingo in the background this evening.
    - checked egg banking, directly - had what I thought was probably a phishing email (and it was) but it looked so real I went directly to egg and checked it out.
    - got my trading data for next week, when big events are happening.
    - ordered my next printer cartridge (through quidco - 1.5p!!!)
    - printed a Gap voucher - no idea if I want anything there, but I think there's one in town, and its 30% off, so I'll do it just in case.

I'm quite pleased with that lot! Still to do:
    - qype
    - sun bingo via ipoints.
    - other comps.
    - bingoport.
    - book my train ticket over Christmas, I'd already done it but had to cancel.
    - coffee coffee coffee.

Off out to this ballet thing soon, will check out Boots for offers, the Gap thing, Primark for cheap fleeces, and Tesco for rewriteable DVDs.

Hope everyone is warm, if not happy at this weather.
    xx

Don't worry, Bob, its cos I get up so early to be compos mentis for the trading Monday to Friday. By 7pm, I'm catatonic.....

Nice strong cup of coffee is just brewing, then I'll sit down and watch the Daniel bits of Stargate Continuum.

    Morning!

Sitting here with the trading on, and *nothing* is happening - I think everyone is waiting for the announcements El Chancellor is going to make.

Going to play about with Qype, going to do the you-know-what accounts - I have *such* a block on that, but they have to go off today, the limit is 28 November, which is this Friday.

I'm only working early evening, but I have planned to have a relax mid-afternoon. Going to have another little relax now, and get my brekkie, see you all later.

Okay, here's the trading lesson: when nothing has been happening for long enough for me to post on mse that nothing is happening, something is about to happen (blame Bob for that, I'm channelling Baldric).

Perfectly good signal at 9am, 10 minutes after I posted my previous post - if I'd taken it, and stayed in the market for only 15 minutes, I'd now be £45 better off, thank you very much. Dummy!

Found the Amazon voucher from bingoport in my spam filter box.... oh well, thats something.

And I have to do the two mystery shop phone calls for this morning now....

:p Well, nothing happened about the trading, I missed the signal. I've just been lolling about in the bath (I really need to get "up" earlier) and have switched the charts back on.

If I'd got in at 9am, and stayed in till the end of a signal that showed that little move was finished, at 10am, I'd have made 82 points net. Thats a system trade, with no false signals anywhere else. £82 pounds even today, and £820 if I was trading at £10 a point.

25 points net at 2.20 on the same basis, staying in for 15 minutes.

In again at 1515 (this one is hairy, it nearly hits my stoploss of 15 - i.e. I would have made a 13 point loss at one point, before it turned around and played nicely) 62 points profit before getting out just after 4pm.

Its a very straightforward day today, no false signals - no idea what Alastair Darling has said, but whatever the signal was, I'd have stayed out of the market if he'd been about to speak, or in the middle of speaking, or anything like that.

Of course, I would either have had a heart attack, or been gibbering in ecstasy and consequently unable to see the computer screen, but there you go :D Realistically, for today, I'd never have had the stamina to do all 3 - but I'd love to have had the focus to do just one!

What have I done instead? Washed the dishes. Had a bath. Done 20 minutes on the French accounts - I'm really p*ssed off about that, I've wasted the time I set aside for it.

Better find out what Darling dear has said, and make myself a cup of tea. I'm finally going to be working in 90 mins....

PS - the mystery shops were fine, tho I thought I'd bollixed them too at one point!

A stoploss isn't hairy - a stoploss is to stop things becoming hairy...

You seem to put a lot of emotion into your trading. Close your eyes and imagine a loss. What do feel?

So what do I have to do then...come down there and tie you to your chair..? ;) :rotfl:
