NOTW = NoTW = News of the World, sorry! Been obsessing with how to get food cheaper, cos of our grocery challenge!
I had no idea the NY City Ballet had done DVDs - I always think of ballet as being live classes, which of course I'm too old/unfit for, tho my standard is fairly high (I did the BBO grading system, and got to Intermediate).
The stuff I writeI'm older, and I never had kids! And I never wanted to get stuck in a rut. I couldn't fly for ages, cos of the phobia, so I did what I could within train distance. Sicily was about 1980, and I had *serious* reservations about going there - there were a few tourist ghettoes like Taormina, and that was that, but I wandered about all over the place, I wanted to see the Greater Greece of classical times, Siracusa, I wanted to go up Mount Etna, all sorts of stuff. In those days, Italians were still "guest workers" in Germany, the way Turks are now, and you'd see them coming home, with all sorts of electrical equipment, boxes and boxes being unloaded from the train onto donkeys. Nearly ended up married quite a few times as well, the Italians really like their families!
I just like writing, thats the truth. And **when** the trading works, and I am debt free, there will be a real, honest to goodness party, with lots and lots of Tesco wine and cava (yum). And you're coming, hear me? :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Ah, of course! I thought it was some sort of new DFW abbreviation that I'd missed.I had no idea the NY City Ballet had done DVDs - I always think of ballet as being live classes, which of course I'm too old/unfit for, tho my standard is fairly high (I did the BBO grading system, and got to Intermediate).
Yep, they brought out at least two workout DVDs, in fact I've got a spare of the first one on video if you'd like it? Oh and nonsense about being too old/ unfit, I've been to a couple of adult classes over the years and the age/ ability group has been very mixed, there was a nearly-70 year old lady in one of them! I can't remember what level I got to, got the certificates somewhere, but not quite as high as that.. I'd been trying pointe work for a little while when I packed it in but never did any of that in exams. The stuff I writeI'm older, and I never had kids! And I never wanted to get stuck in a rut. Try and stop me!Your adventures just sound wonderful, wish I'd done more in my 20s (going to friend's 30th birthday has filled me with 'rapidly approaching 30' fear I think!).. did people think you were brave and/ or stupid then, going off on your own...?

Thanks for the video offer! But I "let my video go" over Christmas, I only have DVDs now (thats why I'm taping stuff, I don't have anything any more! V handy that Sky One keeps repeating Stargate!).
Wow to the 70 year old in the classes - amazing. I'm not quite there *yet*, at any rate! I'm the same as you in that it was pointe work that stopped me - the next exam would have been to go into prep advanced, and that would have had to be all on pointe, and there's no way I could take that level of pain.
I think people wondered why I was doing what I was doing (and of course I didn't let the family know about any hairy stuff until much later) but a lot of it was "oh, she's crazy" - that reaction that I was talking about in response to gtd's posts, that I was the clever one but *completely* impractical, and not to be trusted.
Stuff wakes us up, sometimes, doesn't it, as to how time is passing.... The debt is another wake up call, along with the knowledge that I don't want to do this work until I retire, and nor do I want to live where I am. Heaven only knows where tho!
We'll see. I better stop being so serious, this is another of my failings.....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi KC...some pretty heavy stuff there re the trading....I'll keep out of that one as I'm even scared of e-bay..lol..
Your adventures in life sound so wonderful. They are really nice to read about. You sound like me when talking about not wanting to do the job or living where you live for the rest of your life but not knowing what/where to do.
I really need to go with the flow more rather than over analysing things..I drive myself in circles somedays with too much thinking and not enough doing.
Actually just thinking you say you have to use it or lose it(natwest money) so is it such a big deal one way or the other (win/lose) on the trading thing as it's sort of not real money IYSWIM..so why not just go for it?0 -

It does sound heavy, doesn't it? It doesn't *feel* heavy, but there you go. I wish I could write more lightly, like hypno and pania, but I can't, hi ho.Your adventures in life sound so wonderful. They are really nice to read about.I love writing. I love the doing, too!

Yep, we can drive ourselves nuts in talking it through, can't we? I fancy Barcelona or Greece for the winter. Canada for the summer - just mind that herd of pigs flying past the window...... :rotfl:Actually just thinking you say you have to use it or lose it(natwest money) so is it such a big deal one way or the other (win/lose) on the trading thing as it's sort of not real money IYSWIM..so why not just go for it?
Thats right! Thats why I keep wittering on about the phobiascos the money isn't really an issue - I know that sounds odd on here, but its true. Never mind. When I'm a [STRIKE]millionaire[/STRIKE] billionaire, and I've financed and mass-produced the invention that saves the polar bears *and* the orang utans, the dfw party I throw will be as nothing compared to my debt-free party that I shanghaied RedSquirrel into attending a bit further up my thread. I'll just keep *that* party in mind.

Sigh. I had an emergency phone call that lasted for ages during my trading time, and there was a lovely 60/70 points profit movement very clearly signalled on my system.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Oh dear.. could you maybe turn your phone off during your trading time? Hope not too bad an emergency?Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hiya - not my emergency, don't worry. I can't really turn my phone off for four hours a day plus the session time when I'm actually with clients. Its a very unusual thing to happen, as well, so I don't envisage it being regular. And that is about the job that actually brings the money in! I have to think about that too!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I assume from the word 'profit' that means you missed out on something good (you can tell I really haven't got a clue!). Shame about that - was it for real money or are you still trying out your system?0 -
No I guess you can't for four hours, hope it's just an occasional occurence.. tomorrow then?Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
