I've just found it on BBCi player online, as I'm not sure whether it is on catch up even though I'm on Virgin, but not in Wales.

I've just watched the first episode of the 2nd series, and think it's brilliant. I love anything like this, especially wartime receipes, rationing etc...

Funnily enough I have just finished reading Nella Last's Peace, which is the followup to Housewife 49, the programme that starred Victoria Wood, on the diaries of Nella Last. I've also devoured nearly every book I can find on the wartime diaries of people for Mass Observation. My hubby thinks I should have been born in that era as I am fascinated so much. I always say if I could live in the 40's with the same values they have and commaraderie but with our mod cons, I would be so happy.
