Apparently she was walking down Ankle Hill in Melton when the lorry hit her. I can only assume the lorry skidded.
There is no point in us going to Nottingham, but I guess there will be very little sleep here tonight.0 -
Oh no CSARINA what a shock for you. I hope all will be well and that you get good news soon xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

It has snowed this afternoon and more is due all night, we are getting through the fruit and veg, enough for smaller portions for 2/3 days, but won't develop scurvy if we do without for a day or two. OH would be able to walk to the SM and back, about 1/2 mile each way, if necessary, however I think that re-stocking with supplies may be problematical for a while, pretty much all medium and larger size businesses whether, food, clothes, electricals etc, etc now work to the Just in Time model and carry very little stock of anything, hence the excess of HGV's now on our roads, and the frost and snow will lead to a shortage of home grown vegetables, judging by all the whinging I have heard on TV and radio today a lot of people have not needed to be aware of this and are now annoyed, not Old Stylers then?
Lamewolf - the furry one is almost back to normal, very light exercise for several days (apart from her mad few minutes this morning) seems to be doing the trick. We set a time limit of a few hours to see how she was before deciding if a visit to the Vet was necessary as we were pretty sure she had jarred her leg on the hard icy ground, she has a bit of a track record in this, she changes direction so quickly and violently:eek: I hope that you are able to re-schedule the meet and greet.
Lainey - fingers crossed for a gentle thaw of the pipes, pleased that your girly is snug and well looked after. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Judi - do you not have an electric blanket to help keep you warm? They are great for a quick blast of heat during the night.
I did until i washed it. In fairness the blanket said it was machine washable but not to tumble dry it so i followed the instructions to the letter and hung it up to dry.
Unfortunately Grump, a stickler for health and safety gave me an earbashing and told me it wasnt going on the bed again.
Csarina sorry to hear about your daughter. Please keep us updated.
Ive had a quiet day, spent part of it asleep being up most of the night. One of the hounds has got bad guts as it turns out. Not sure which one but she seems to be over the worst.
Grump is home. I put myself to bed this afternoon and a cold body slipped into bed beside me. Nothing to do with missing each other, i think it was more the fact we were both knackered. Me from being up all night and him spending 6 hours driving back from Wales.
The driving snow returned at tea time, around the time the wind eased slightly.
Not sure what tonight will bring but at least i dont have to worry about leaving my front door unlocked.
Fixed my poorly pc. Reinstalled windows. That seems to have done the trick.

Crossing fingers and toes for your daughter.
I had been panicking as youngest dd was setting off to drive home to celebrate middle dd's birthday and the last I heard she was stuck in the car. Just heard she has arrived safely at older dd and sil and they are looking after her well and spoiling her.
We meet for an afternoon tea tomorrow in York and then they stay overnight for breakfast and a special lunch tomorrow which will be my special chicken pancaked0
