    Morning All

What can I say about the snow! Just measured 25cm of the stuff out there, my car has all but disappeared in the drive and I think I'll stay in! There is snow banked up against the doors and windows and it has just started to snow heavily again.

I put a plate of oatcakes and raisins out for the birds, it was wolfed down pretty quickly but I fear the plate is lost!

Got a few things to do today, must do them instead of lazing on the sofa like yesterday.

Hope you are all safe and warm, take extra care. XX

Good Morning chums and even though its gone 8 its very dark and gloomy out there .The sky is full of foreboding snow clouds and a few flakes are drifting down already. All the school virtually in Kent are closed and around 50 plus stations as well The road outside my house is a sheet of sheer ice and snow and cars are sliding all over the place. Day three for me of being stuck indoors I think.Still on the upside I am getting quite a bit of knitting done :)
No need for any shopping at all,but I miss getting a breath of fresh air and a walk over to the shops at the moment is out of the question as the snow is still pretty deep. Daft really as I can almost see the precinct from my sitting room window, but having to use a stick to walk I am not going to chance falling and breaking something. The NHS has enough problems without a daft old dear falling over and taking up bed space. luckily being the UK it won't last too long (well I hope not) as five weeks next Monday we are off for a short trip to the Isle of Wight for 5 days in a caravan :):):)

Hope everyone is warm and safe and dry,it will soon pass and we will be soon saying how blooming hot it is again :):) Its our national pastime the weather :):):)

    Have a good day chums

Thanks for the thread Holly, hugs to all those in need.
I've dropped CHS at work I just hope I can get back to collect him.
One of his colleagues has a bad heart so CHS is needed to do the heavy work.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone,

We have a lot of snow with more falling, we are planning to drive into town in a while just to pick up a few fresh bits, the hardest part will be getting down our little lane and then it’s the main road which doesn’t look too bad.
I was supposed to be meeting a pal for lunch but we have already postponed that and will try again next week.
Have just enjoyed a big bowl of warm soaked oats, lunch will be soup and then fish pie for tea.

Hugs to all poorlies and our insomniacs club, take care if you have the bad weather.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

We have snow and more coming down. I lit the sitting room fire yesterday, plan to do the same this morning, but have to clean the grate out first.

Reluctant to get out of bed this morning. I had a better nights sleep, woke briefly a couple of times, but soon drifted off again. I need to look at getting a curtain over the back door, we have had the council in to it but there is a howling gale coming in which means the kitchen is cold all the time.

Did the freezer audit yesterday, OH requested beef burgers with mash and beans tonight, so that's what he will get. We have some lemon cheese cake left from yesterday for dessert.

Stay warm ladies and do not go out if you don't have to. I almost forgot, pich an a punch for the 1st of the month...........

Snowing heavily so fire lit and knitting out. I am trying to knit a pair of baby bootees/ slippers. Really complicated pattern who knew 39 stitches could be so complicated! Decided not to go to the Village Supper tonight. I imagine it will be cancelled but I feel the same as Jackie O, don't want to risk broken bones

Snowing steadily down here near Margate. How grateful I am that we have supplies in and don’t have to go out. Taking advantage and getting some decorating done before it warms up and we can go back to outdoor jobs. joked with younger neighbours they should be checking on us!

Our local Facebook page has been great at updating on whats going on with the roads etc.

    Keep warm and safe everyone

We have about four inches of snow here and I have decided not to even try to leave the house. I have plenty of food and made sure I got my prescriptions early. I have been doing a bit of online shopping but there is nothing that will cause a problem if it does not arrive for a few days.

Three dds were planning to meet me for a birthday afternoon tea In York on Saturday and then stay with me overnight having a girlie get together and a meal on Sunday so hoping that will still be possible. The main thing is that everyone is safe so will see how it goes. Have made it very clear that safety comes first and not to feel they "must" try to drive if conditions are bad.

Enjoy your "free" day and spoil yourself if you can. I have several cans of soup etc in the kitchen, food in the freezer and fridge, plenty of eggs and milk and some sachets of soups etc so can make meals or snacks for the next few days if not a lot more. If family want something I do not have in then they are very good about bringing it themselves or asking what I need.

Guilty pleasure of being in a snuggly dressing gown and watching the snow outside the window.

Take care everyone and hugs to all

Morning all, Happy St David's Day !
Hope everyone is safe and warm. We are hunkered down here. All the schools in the county are closed today and tomorrow so DD and family are happy bunnies. Although it has been snowing here since 6am our road is only now beginning to be covered, however the buses are not running here only on the main roads. They can't get up the hill in the snow, so I suppose they are taking no chances. The weatherman said we weren't supposed to get the snow till lunchtime, got that wrong then ! Hope it doesn't snow like in '62/'63 .
Mr Fix It had a wobble this morning as my food stocks are down, but there's still enough to feed an army for a fortnight, except for tins of beans 'n' sausages, of which there are none, so spaghetti hoops will have to suffice :rotfl:.
I appologise to all those with sleep problems, as I have the opposite problem and I am back to sleeping 10hrs a night .
Mr Fix It is making a beef curry so that's me on sous chef duties then. I have already chopped the onions and garlic, found the coconut milk, cut up the beef and de-seeded the cardamon pods. I expect I will have to clean every pot and pan when he's finished too . Never mind the finished product is usually worth it, he's one of those throw it all in together types. If I did that, it's mainly inedible :(. I'll stick to the things I know I can't ruin :rotfl:.
Not much on the cards for today, after the kitchen clean up that is, but there is still some ironing if I get bored :rotfl::rotfl:.
I will send the Sandman out to the sleepless but he doesn't like the snow, makes him go all soggy :D
Hope everyone is having a good Thursday whatever you are doing. Take care and love and hugs all round.
