I hope you like my photos of our new home/Narrowboat. Lots to sort out but we are getting there. Took the old dog beds to the tip today then went to Pets at home and treated them to a new bed each. Bit of shopping, food shopping in a store called The Food Warehouse. I think it is something to do with Iceland? No Walnut whips though 🙁.
Can't remember if I said before, our boat is now booked for August 2023 to have a re paint and new name. It's going to be in Navy blue, Burgundy and Cream borders and the writing Pixie On The Move. Plus 2 stools with backs to them welded to the back so when MrP is at the Tiller I can sit with him.
Sad news yesterday, my Auntie, my late mum's sister passed away. She was a lovely person, very kind and caring. My mum didn't live with her parents, sadly they didn't want her. My Auntie found a way of keeping in touch. That meant a lot to me.
Sounds like you've had a good day today @foxgloves. I agree with you about the amount of homeless people on the streets, when I was back home a man was asking for money to feed his dog. I went off and came back with tins of dog food and a macdonalds meal for him. He was very grateful.
Internet is a bit hit and miss here. I will pop back soon. Take Care and Keep Safe everyone XMortgage free September 2021. Narrowboat brought October 2021

Since I’ve been going back to the office one day a week and walking through the city centre first thing in the morning, I’ve definitely noticed more rough sleepers than there used to be.@Pixiehouse55 your boat loves so cosy. The dogs look very content already. Sorry to hear about your auntie.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

@Pixiehouse55 - Great new name for your boat & nice traditional colourway for the waterways.
@Sun_Addict - Yes, I agree. We've definitely noticed more rough sleepers in our main city centre too, as we like an early start for shopping trips. It's very sad for all the people affected. I can't imagine anything worse.

Afternoon Sunday Savers,
Mr F is watching something involving stormtroopers, having spend this morning sorting out the loft hatch which had been painted shut. I've had a slow paced but useful morning. I've added a new pot to the Savings Pot spreadsheet to hold the money committed to the last of the building work next year, & annotated all yesterday's shopping trip receipts ready to do budget updates on Tuesday.
I've also unpacked the presents stash, listed the people for whom we buy, noted what gifts each of them have & added in red pencil those things we still need to buy. Mr F has helpfully provided me with a wishlist so I've popped both of them in my 👜 for referring to while out & about. Am feeling much more organised now, which does impact on festive spending, as I like to go shopping with a fairly firm idea of what I'm looking for.
Other bits & bobs: Filled up the bird feeders, gathered in more 🍐 🍐 🍐 & buttered a cake tin ready to bake a 🍐 cake for dessert later on. Also trimmed the stems on my lovely anniversary bouquet, changed the water & added flower food as they are still looking good. I want to get these Christmas present socks finished so am going to crack on with that & read. I've just started 'Milkman' by Anna Burns, having just finished the 6th of Sarah Hilary's crime series, which I've enjoyed.
Hope everyone's managing to have a relaxing Sunday afternoon,

hi foxgloves & friends
I'm trying to do 10k steps a day but have given up for today. I've walked just under 4k including a trip to the local c00p but when i could feel the wet soaking through to my skin i decided to give upI'm reading my first Robert Galbraith novel that i was loaned, enjoying it but it's over 1000 pages! I haven't heard of Anna Burns so i'll look her up.

Hope the rest of your day has been relaxing. My daughter and son in law have been today its been a really lovely day lots of pressies and a tasty birthday day cake (74) it's frightening as I only feel half that! And we have made tentative arrangements for Xmas, who knows what the Covid situation will be then. Not being used to company I am shattered just snuggling under a blanket and scoffing another piece of cake x6

Hello @Deni_debt-free_dreamer & @Four_Seasons,
Nice to hear from you. I have a big glass of wine & am feeling a bit tiddly already.
Sounds like you've had a lovely day @Four_Seasons. Relaxing under a blanket with cake sounds like a perfect evening.
Yes, @Deni_debt-free_dreamer - a thoroughly soggy day here too. I must add Robert Galbraith to my reading list. 'Milkman' won the Booker prize a couple of years ago. It is narrated quite unusually - sort of 'stream of consciousness' how the main character is thinking it. It is set in Belfast during the 70s.
Mr F's cooking night - he's lit up the conservatory with fairy lights, candles etc, & is making a sort of indoor bbq for celebrating Samhain night.
I'm just drinking wine & pigging my way through a twin bowl of olives & crisps.

@Deni_debt-free_dreamer if you’re struggling to get your steps in I can highly recommend Get Fit With Rick on You Tube. He does walking workouts with a dance twist and there’s a step counter. Great to do without having to leave the house if the weather is bad. He’s rather easy on the eye too although he never stops talking 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
