Evening Frugalistas,
Uneventful but pleasant day, which went like this: Baked a sourdough, went to town, posted stuff, bought a few Easter cards, treated myself to a couple of paperbacks, paid this month's 'account sweep' into ISA, did piano practice, cleaned bathroom, had a nice chat with best friend on the phone, gave some over-exuberant geraniums a haircut, emptied all the bins & tidied.
That was it. Oh, actually no it wasn't quite. Discovered this morning that our local vaccination hub is now booking 55+s so I booked both appointments there & cancelled the ones I made at the big centre in a different town. That not only saves nearly 70 miles of petrol, but more importantly, I can get jabbed a whole 11 days earlier, as I got an appointment for this coming Monday night.
Knitting needs to come out now or I'll be drawing my pension before I've finished this blanket (& I'm a good way off that time atm!) 59 / 144 squares completed.
Love to all, F x

having spent all day in bed yesterday, woke feeling slightly better today, not so fluey but totally washed out. arm felt like a deadweight though. better still tonight, hoping by tomorrow all symptoms gone. so worth getting though. no complaints.

Glad you are picking up now, Savingmore. I keep hearing about these side effects, yet also know people who have experienced no more than a sore arm. I am really hoping I fall into the latter category as I have both painter & decorator and the piano tuner to supervise the day after my jab & retiring to bed isn't going to be an option. I will make sure I have paracetamol at the ready & aim not to do anything more taxing than knitting just in case.

A tip someone told me for the flu jab was to take a couple of paracetamol about an hour before the jab helps withs side effects. I dont know if it works either with the flu jab or the covid one I just thought I would pass it on.

I had the covid jab - astra zenica - 4 weeks ago, no side effects at all, not even a sore arm!! my partner was the same when he had his - perhaps we were just lucky? or as my daughter would say "where there's no sense there's no feeling!!" x5

Although I had a bad reaction my OH who has a dodgy immune system was fine. It seems to be random in who it affects. Fingers crossed you’ll be fine.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

You had a productive day Foxgloves
. It's great news that you've been able to book your jab for Monday
. Mine is next Friday and I made sure it was on the last day of the week so I wouldn't have to miss any school if I felt ill. Hopefully neither of us will get many side effects. DH didn't even have a sore arm after his but just felt tired for a couple of days!

I had a slightly sore arm for a day, and felt really tired the day after the jab. But I then did spend the afternoon of that day hauling firewood from outside the garage at the bottom of the garden to the wood shed outside the back door, so that will have accounted for some of it! The next day I was fine. That was it - too trivial to term it side effects tbh.I was given the Pfizer vaccine. OH too, and he had no issues at all.Hope it goes as well for you.5
