sorry you have had more symptoms, i have had bouts of feeling nauseous again yesterday, like i did at the weekend. So really it’s been 5-6 days of reactions, but as you say, will happily go through this again if it means I don’t get ill with covid. So thankful for vaccine, and can’t believe the shenanigans of the EU. well done to the uk, def. got this part spot on.7

Thanks all - appreciated, I started perking right up last night & have so far been fine today apart from about ten mins mid-afternoon when I suddenly felt so tired I could have fallen asleep at my desk (just as described by SunAddict!)

Hello Frugalistas,
A slightly rum day today - I feel almost completely back to normal, so had planned a day of various activities, starting with the ironing, followed by an hour or so in the garden. Well, that didn't happen.....I discovered that due to Mr F having moved a heavy book unit (full of stuff) in front of the linen cupboard, I couldn't reach either the ironing board or iron. My smirk on realising I couldn't iron evaporated when I realised I would still have it to do another day. Meanwhile, headed for garden but for the shortest imaginable time as the rain showers started. I did manage to water all my greenhouse seedlings, but nothing else, as I had to stage an emergency frog spawn rescue mission. We always have a lot of frogs visit our pond this time of year & the ensuing amphibious orgy results in a lot of frog spawn. This is frequently predated by herons, but I couldn't believe that just about every loved -up frog had decided to lay their spawn on the absolute shallowest possible bit of the pond....basically on the ledge we put in to enable hedgehogs to get out of the water. In terms of survival of their genetic material, how dim are this year's frogs? That was one big stack of caviar not even covered in water, just asking to be frozen on a cold night or gobbled by our current heron without even having to get his feet wet! Even the blackbirds & starlings who enjoy a tadpole amuse-bouche as much as the next hungry critter could just stand on the pebbled edge & pick them off. There was so much of it, I couldn't move it with the net. In the end, I flooded it off the ledge with a few big cans of rainwater to try & make it just slightly safer. And after that mercy mission, the rain came, so that was the end of my outdoor time.
Other stuff: A really good piano session.....sounds fab after Tuesday's re-tune, baked a crusty sourdough loaf (just out of oven), did a Pr*lific survey, started compiling a birthday wishlist as Mr F is asking me for ideas, moved some funds around to keep budgets straight & updated 'Personal Spends' spreadsheet, transferred the council's garden waste bin collection dates to my diary, tidied, finished a blanket square & cast on another and finally got round to tackling my shredding pile. Shreddings piled in a bin bag (which I almost never buy as we are inundated with charity bags plopping through the door) & will be used very soon in the worm composter, as I need to harvest the finished compost layer & set them up for the new gardening year.
No cooking required tonight as I made enough yesterday to feed us twice.
So not a very exciting post (when are they ever, these days?!) but at least one or two achievements after spending yesterday flopping around like a wet lettuce with my symptoms. Was also pleased to see that Mr F had opened the back bedroom window this morning to get on top of the paint fumes (which are not that bad at all, actually, I think the smelly product was the primer for the pipes).
Take care, m'dears. We are gradually getting through it..........

We have spent the day cleaning out the fish pond. After a raid by a heron a few years ago we bought 4 goldfish. They have obviously been very busy as I counted 28 when they came out of the pond. They are back home now but with only half the water as there is a leak near the top so a garden centre visit tomorrow to get some stuff to fix it and then finish it off.

Ladyholly - We had to bail out our pond & re-line it this winter. It had developed a leak just as you describe, somewhere in the top quarter, but try as we might, we just couldn't find the hole, so we went for full re-lining. It didn't take as long as we thought it would, although we got very muddy. I get such a lot of pleasure from our pond, particularly sitting by it on my bench, reading, on sunny days. Hope you can get your leak sorted out without too much trouble.
