Yes, that's a shame, Ladyholly - they all have good roots & the new leaves are starting. I honestly thought someone would take all 18 of them. I even put them in a crate for easy carrying. I made a display of lots of different free plants out there last year with a hand-coloured poster saying they were free, help yourselves, etc& not a single pot was taken.... even trays of 6 summer bedding plants! I was so surprised because I had thought it would be a little bit of a lockdown cheer-up.Maybe nobody round here likes strawberries either!

Hi @foxgloves and gang. How are you all? Sorry not been about lately. My lady back at her day centre 2 days a week and our man is now getting day support twice a week as well as hospital once a fortnight for a Dialation to stretch his oesophagus. He is now on soft/mashed food slowly getting there. Weve been busy getting our house up together and trying to sale my craft stash that we can't take with us. Its a nightmare. Everybody wants something for nothing, some of my stock hasn't even been opened. Hey ho will keep trying. Maybe try somewhere else. Then yesterday went with hubby to take dogs for a walk along the beach. Got to a muddy bit, my feet got stuck and I fell down. Hands and knees in mud and jarred my back!! So I've been on bed rest. What else can go wrong lol. My Fuchsias are coming in to bloom in the Greenhouse. Back garden a bit of a mess as hubby busy sorting out new pump for the washing machine, he is not the tidiest of people!! Pay day today and what a lovely feeling no credit cards or catalogue debts to pay!! Now its being saved up and a chunk paid off the mortgage and money to probably have to rent for a month or 2 when we sale the house and find the narrowboat of our dreams. Or, buy a camper van to life in for a few months.. So time for serious chats about our best options.. Bedtime and read my book. Goodnight and keep safe X

Sorry to hear about you falling over, Pixiehouse55. Children get used to all their tumbles, but I always think as adults, it comes as such a shock suddenly to find ourselves on the floor. Hope your back soon feels better.
Yes, re selling stuff online (& car boot sales are the same)..... we all like to find a bargain, but some buyers really do try to take the p*ss. I said to a potential buyer once 'No, you can' t have it at that price, because if I wanted to give my stuff away for free, I could just go & stand on a street corner & hand it out to passers-by'.
I have a jacket I need to list for sale but am reluctant to enter that whole online auction minefield again.
Hope you start having some decent bids for your craft stuff.

What a pity nobody wants to take your plants Foxgloves. I think it might be to do with people's reluctance to just pick things up that are offered free by the kerb side (not mine I hasten to add) - I found that spare plants are taken eagerly by freecyclers and / or people who see them being offered free on local FB sites, even though the same plants offered for free outside the gate get no takers. Maybe the people who want plants simply don't pass by at the right time, or they are unable to carry them if they come across them unexpectedly, due to being encumbered with shopping, pushchairs, dogs etc. I offer various plants, strawberries, herbs, tomatoes, and all sorts of spare seedlings online most years, and there are always lots of eager collectors.

I agree DawnW, whenever I've had plants to give away they've always gone better via freecycle, facebook or Olio sites.CC1 Aug19 [STRIKE]£7587.85[/STRIKE] Aug 20 £0

Thanks for your suggestions. I don't know if I can be faffed with advertising stuff on websites atm. I think I might just stop putting plants out & save on my time & effort potting them up. They can always go on the compost or I can offer them to specific individuals. I do have quite a big garden, so can squeeze quite a lot in.

Hello diary friends,
Not quite such a productive day today, which is a nuisance, but it was one of those days where everything took a bit longer than I expected. I had a later start as woke with a bad headache & waited for it to lift before cracking on. Nevertheless, I did all of the following:
Sorted 3 loads of clean laundry & did the ironing, wrote all March's birthday cards (also a long letter to enclose with one of them) & stamped ready to post, skype chat with my sis..... our usual weekly yakk but also discussed some logistical issues concerning an elderly frail distant relative, who doesn't have any closer family than us... some potentially tricky stuff there. Did a little bit more on a project I hoped to finish today before running out of time. Did my piano practice & that was it..... Oh actually, the other thing which took ages was deliberating what to do re my covid jab. There are currently no bookings at our big local vaccination hub for 55+ age group, only for 60+. I would rather go to the local one than do two 40+ mile round-trips to a town on the opposite side of our county BUT if it is a while before any local appointments start coming online, it will be longer before I get that important needle into my arm. Dither, dither, ponder, fret...... Decided to put myself back in control by booking both appointments in the other town. First one on 26th March. The 'control' came through knowing I had definite dates in my diary.
Today's Lockdown excitement arrived in the form of our new umbrella - we like a big one for walking, etc. I ordered a 'Giant rainbow golf umbrella' & while it definitely won't be going anywhere near any golf, it is certainly 'giant' & very rainbowy. I love it & would also use it as a huge parasol at a festival or while camping.
Mr F's day off today. He has cleared out the Man Cave ready for the decorator to start next week - a job well done!
Right, knitting time now,
Cheers m'dears,

I was lucky to get my jab early courtesy of being an unpaid carer to my OH. The local vaccination centre is a 10 minutes walk from our house and they have currently run out of vaccine so feel extra lucky I got in on time. I had the Oxford vaccine and was unwell the following day but fine after that. What a shame that no one took your plants. During the first lockdown local folks sold theirs via Facebook groups and did quite well out of it. Maybe people are suspicious of free stuff, who knows.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
