ah now i can see why you are saying what you are,you have gone and bought right at the top of the market may 07 ooopps i really feel for you and if i was you i would be wishing all this doom and gloom away,ps my purchase will be cash on a four bed,so i dont have a vested intrest but i have earned every penny of my money, not a penny from property but i will not be giving it to some bafoon who is not a realist and does not understand markets....and its forces...

My wife and I bought a house that we wanted for us and our family from mine and my wife's hard graft. You are very much out of order with your comments. I do not care if I bought at the top of the market or not to be honest, because its the right house for us. You sound very bitter and twisted about something or other. I wish you luck in sorting out those issues.
18 May 2007 (start of Mortgage):

    14 Jan 08
    Coventry Offest Mortgage: 219002
    Offset Savings: 28200
    Mortage Balance: £190802

And still chucking every spare penny into it!

infact as a senior mortgage underwriter my husband can value our houses against REAL house price sales at work (for a major BANK)

i can see now why you are so scared about all this ,well it looks like the all jobs going in the banking and city might be getting a few people worried ,this is the root of it all ,you are scared of the falls ,dont worry in the last round of job losses in the city the divorce rate went mental, most wives of the inv bankers got to know their husbands for the first time and found out they had nothing in common. as the 7 to 9pm workday is hard to replace and you find most of them miss the adrenlin rush most of all...

I have to laugh, we dont rely on our jobs for our primary source of income, PMSL, sorry to dissapoint you, but i am not worried! This is getting riduculous! How dare you comment on me and my relationship and my finances! How childish!

Good someone else who is not afraid to stand up for them selves on this forum. Good luck to you mate, they are all bitter tisted people who are desperate to get on the housign ladder. It does not matter how much you paid for your house as in the long term you will be quids in! Ignore these stupid people who are living in dreams, when the housing market suposedly tumbles i will be very happy for them because i am not a nasty person, i hope theirdreams come true as they have obviously as you pointed out got sever financial problems to be desperate for property prices to fall. You did the best thing in buying your property wether it be at a peak or not as long as you are comfortable with your finances in 20 years time we will belaughign at all those people still waiting to get on the ladder cos they have been saying prices are goign to plumet!!! just as i have friends who sold up in 2003 and started renting as they beilieved we had hit a peak only for their house price to go up again by more than a third!!!! i know who is in the best position in the long term and thats me an thee!!

    Steps

1)Multiply your annual salary by 3.

2)Does this equal the price of the property?

3)If not, wait until it does.

4)This might take a few years in London.

    5) Ask Abi

    6) Buy a truck/van you can sleep in & go travelling. It's so much cheaper than surviving in the septic isle

    7) Don't take 5 seriously

Oh dear, well, i know i am in a better position than you financially, so really i dont think your the person to be saying dont ask me, i do sympathise with your situation though. If i get one more nasty comment from anyone else on this forum i will start reporting, the message board will be shut down trust me!

I'm probably right off topic, but I seem to remember some Scottish off shore islands punting their wealth into a situation that went belly up. Was it about 15 years ago? Anyone able to remind me what happened?

Meanwhile, some people have problems not just getting a big mortgage BUT getting a mortgage that comes near their perceived value of their property; as valuers have been told to be conservative:

It is all getting a bit hot under the collar, should we start a new thread called "The big house price panic"?

"All i know is (and once again i wil point it out) analysts and amatures alike have been predicting a crash since 2001 AND IT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET!"

Very true. Blo0dy amateurs. I almost bought a house in 2001 but was warned about an imminent crash. Instead I decided to rent and I'm still not on the property ladder. So when is this crash gonna happen?

In 2001 prices had just returned to their long-term average from the crash of the early 1990s. It was reasonable in the context of a strong economy to expect that they would overshoot a bit, however what caused them to rocket was agressive cutting of interest rates from 6% to 3.5% by the Bank of England.

We won't be seeing 3.5% again in a hurry.
Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!

i think its about time you have to get a real job instead of leeching off people via a fee.some people in this country earn the wages they get you do not, what do you produce not a thing, you just leach off other peoples deals..and if you cannot see whats coming and its all bad for you,,,you will be bankrupt by this time next year...

What on earth are you rantign about, your gettign reported. I have a real job! I work for a large company. What on earth am I not producing?, Are you tapped? Honestly thats not me slagging its a serious question. How on earth will i be bancrupt this time next year. Once again you have no idea of my finacial position! Please talk sence?
