Thanks both - I have done some bits today including making 4 portions of bolognese and 6 portions of veg and bean soup. Took some soup round to Dad's and we had lunch together. Kitchen was a tip after all that so I have cleaned the worksurfaces and hob, WU x 2, cleaned the microwave and wiped the cupboards.

I shall attempt "in" as much as I can this week. I have a meet'n'greet with a new dog on Saturday, so 1) I need the bungalow to be clean and tidy, but 2) I can't afford to knock myself into Wednesday week achieving a clean and tidy bungalow. This may be - er - interesting.

Loved the song link posted by Piggers on last week's thread; if anyone's remotely interested, this is what we had at our wedding:

Zilch flying done today, but I'm in awe of Pigger's supersonic flying. I'm having a grump, as I was out all day and still came home to cook, clear up, and then remove random bits of carp that had been left around the place. Still, the kitchen is tidy again, the rubbish is out for the morning, DW is running and washing has been sorted. Just let them even think about interrupting me when Masterchef comes on.

I'll be in as much as I can tomorrow. I'm doing extra hours for the next 6 weeks as cover, so another morning out of the house. I'm more productive in the mornings, so that doesn't bode well for flying.

Fab track, LW. I was the lucky person who had Stairway to Heaven at their wedding. The full extended version. DH's choice. I swear that I was looking at my watch by the end of it. :D

Evening all. It's not good. I'm in the bath sulking and feeling hurt and DH is playing a computer game being cross and bolshy.

*Rant alert - Flylady secret code*

Needless to say it is over my decision to have my old eternity ring remodelled into earings. Apparently there was no need to spend money on this. The fact that the cost (including scrap gold offset) was still cheaper than the excess on the insurance has been ignored. I hardly ever treat myself to anything, but I've been reminded that I got earings for my birthday (back in September). I've behaved selfishly and frivilously. I didn't discuss it first...you mean ask/get permission...and how dare I compare it to a Sonos sound bar, two, no, make that three, top of the range speakers, plus stands, a PS4 or timber cutting tools including pneumatic log splitter and diamond blade circular saw. I mean, literally, there is no way this level of spending can be compared! No, you're right mate. It cant. I can bankroll you to the tune of near as damn it, six figures, as due to the fact that both you and your first wife could spend in one day what I spend on myself in a year, but I'm not worth a few hundred quid. Well you can F right off!

    *Rant over*

And to add insult to injury the water isn't hot enough. Oh, pooh sticks.

Dizzy.. catalogue his purchases.. and yours.. blow a raspberry at him and tell him he can apologise when he has grown up enough to realise he is being a puffin (silly old bird!) .. you stick to your guns and repurpose something you clearly care about into something new, useable and beautiful.

OH hung up 2 loads of wet stuff.
I folded 3 loads of dry stuff

Thankfully it is binday... and I have 4 binbags to sneak into the neighbours bins.. I am so fed up of the mountains of stuff in this house...

    (((Hugs))) Dizzy.

Miserable day here today. The plane's air recirculation system has clearly delivered me a generous dose of germs, and I have a streaming cold which is threatening to block up my sinuses. Flying has been put on hold. I just managed to take Rosie to her prepaid class this afternoon - where a stupid woman backed into my car "because she "didn't see it" (even though it's bright green???!!!) - and then for a short walk along the lane. Because I was feeling so grotty I didn't go to the Old Wives' meeting this evening , even though I was supposed to be on coffee duty. Instead I spent most of the evening dozing in front of the television and emptying another box of tissues :(

I need to be well enough not to miss college tomorrow...

  • He vacuumed all of upstairs. I thought he'd shut the bedroom door and just shoved it to and fro a couple of times, but everywhere is clean. The bedroom rug is so clean that not only is it red instead of cat bum shades of white and ginger, you can see all the holes that moths have put in it :(

But the landing carpet feels luverly underfoot and is easily three shades lighter.

He's going to do the stairs and ground floor tomorrow.

Morning all - very cold here, but no snow....boo....

DH has apologised for being a prat. If I'm honest, I think it was a little bit of green-eyed monster, but even so.

I'm feeling lethargic this morning, but have got to paint the bedroom ceiling, so no rest for the wicked :D
