Did you say anything to the stylist or manager at the time?
Whose idea was it for you to be given a discount and what was the reason given?
What discussions went on about what had happened?
How long ago did this happen?
Will your hair grow back in time?0 -
Cracking picture agrinnall?
Possibly the op doesn't have that wonderful bone structure!0 -
I ended up with £500 when a hairdresser seriously damaged my hair.
I had waist length hair and wanted highlights in the back. The hairdresser applied bleach that was too strong and put me under a hairdryer. My hair was chemically burned and broke off at the nape of my neck. I had to lose about 20 inches of hair to cut out the damaged section.
You should at least go back and complain to the manager. They should offer you something for goodwill just as good customer service.
Luckily your hair will grow back. Mine did grow back but was very sparse for many years.0 -

I don't have that bone structure either but I've had the same hairstyle for years now. Mind you, I am a late middle aged bloke which I suspect the OP isn't!0 -

TBH, £500 doesn't sound a lot for that level of damage.0 -
It's gotta be worth £250k minimum. Bung a claim in for that amount.foxtrotoscar wrote: »Claim enough for some popcorn and maybe a drink too?usefulmale wrote: »If you take this to court, please, please let me know the date and location of the hearing.
That hysterical laughing you will hear after the judge mauls you and throws out your 'case' will be me.Warwick_Hunt wrote: »Are you for real? Were there any children present when the incident occured? If yes, then double that £250k...250k isn!!!8217;t enough, got to be double that for the emotional stress of having to tie up ones hair.
Who do I claim from for going bald!!!worried_jim wrote: »Had to dry my eyes I have laughed so hard, cheers!
This person has come here with a problem that is important to them. They're asking for advice. They didn't ask to be belittled or have a barrage of sarcastic comments.
What none of you realise is that new users who get treated like this simply leave the site and never return. As such, these forums become a melting pot of bitter, cantankerous people who take pride in mickey-taking and bullying, rather than simply offering helpful assistance to their fellow forum-users.
"sp93" may have extensive knowledge in areas that you lot do not, and had they been treated with respect, they may have then become a regular member of the forum.
The first two points in the "forum etiquette" are:Please be nice to all MoneySavers:
There's no such thing as a stupid question and, even if you disagree, courtesy helps.
Please be sensitive:
This may be a web forum, but you're still talking to other human beings.
Some of you should remember this. You have no idea who it is you're bullying, how sensitive they are nor how important this issue is to them.
And all the people that 'liked' the nasty comments are just as bad as the people that made them.0 -
I use these clippers for my dog and they stop almost instantly when you take your finger off the switch so I really can't see that much damage could have been caused.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I'd be inclined to speak to the manager and see if you can get some sort of compensation in the form of a goodwill gesture.

Unless you are a model or something which has caused you to lose out on work, you will probably be entitled to only the cost you paid for the trim and any other goodwill gesture they want to give you.0
