  • We finally made it into Beau’s new place a few days before Christmas. He now has his own mortgage to overpay, though he hasn’t got the bug just yet, but I am still working on him.

my mortgage is down to £11,500 which is positive but I had intended to have paid it off by now. Sadly my work has put all my area at risk of redundancy. My role is pretty safe but I didn’t want to deplete my savings just in case. So should be August when it is all paid off

Baby brother has been paying me £400 a month to live in my London flat, but he was made redundant just before Christmas and only started his new job the other week so he hasn’t been paying any “rent” there. This should start again soon.

  • Paid off the chunk for April, am now down to £9,650 remaining.

went to Greece for a week over Easter, it was lovely but took any potential extra overpayments for April.

I am now on the variable rate, currently 8.74 and mopey mortgage payment has gone from £235 a month to just over £400. Also I am no longer limited to overpayment of three times my mortgage payment each day so can do it all in one go.
