  • Another £1.19 TT this afternoon.

So I got the job in a new city, I had the weekend to consider and I am going to take it. It is a promotion, and my current pay scale is 50k-60k and my new pay scale would be 60k-70k. I have not been happy in my current role for almost a year (including the break down and being signed off last November) so I am taking the job and from October will be Queen of the North!

  • Overpaid the other £600 today, and my monthly payment came out taking the total down to £47,050. Obviously there is still the daily interest to go on but I would love to be under £47,000 by the end of the month

  • I finally have my meeting with Barclays mortgage tomorrow, I don’t have high hopes for it. I asked if they needed me to bring anything in the initial phone call he said no. He has since phoned me twice asking for the basic documents that I assumed they would want to see.

My mortgage broker from when I first got my mortgage has failed to respond to any of my calls or emails so my have to try and find a new one

  • Well I met with the Barclays mortgage broker, they agreed to loan me £88k which is nice.

I am off to the north tomorrow to look for flats to buy, I am looking at flats between £115k - £130k.

I am finding it hard to even find flats to look at, so much is cash only as the building can not be mortgaged as they don’t have their post grenfell safety certificates. I wish they would put that in the advert. I have spoken to so many estate agents only to be told that it is cash buyers only

    Good luck!
Only people buying those types of flats will be BTL landlords & they will make a blooming killing  :heartbreak:

  • Whilst I was in the north I got a call about a job, I have made the long list and have a call tomorrow to see if I make the shortlist to interview. I have quite a niche job, and this role is even more specific and it pays 80k-90k and would allow me to stay in London but with travel across the uk.

    Good luck!
  • Interview tomorrow for the London job, let’s see how that goes. If I don’t get the post I may put an offer in a flat in the north tomorrow afternoon. The offer is quite a bit under the market price but that seems higher than other comparable flats, BUT I don’t know the street by street nuances yet.

end of my pay month, was hoping to finish with a £110 overpayment but due to holidays and trips to the north it ended up only being £60.
