Well I finally got my card reader from Barclays so have finally been able to transfer the money from my overpayment account to the mortgage.I have been applying for jobs out of the north but there are never many of my role in the UK. Had one interview, very positive feedback but didn’t get the post have another interview in a couple of weeks
spreadsheet keeps being updated regularly as policies u turn but it looks like I will not be able to pay off my mortgage by the end of the fix in 2024 but hopefully only seven months laterMortgage £75,300 (December 2016) Mortgage Free Date December 2051

Gosh time has flown and I haven’t updated things here.
I am finally under £30k of mortgage debt, I am so pleased. I would love to have it all paid off by the end of February 2024 as that is when my fix ends, but that is looking more and more unlikely.
My job is rubbish, but due to strikes I am getting a pay rise in September to £70k. Power to the people! Though still have less spare money than before.
my partner is buying a place in the north, hopefully for us to move in this summer. I will have no financial rights to his flat, he won’t with mine. That works for us.

Beau is still moving ahead with purchasing his flat, I am glad I am not involved directly I forgot just how tedious it can be chasing all the different parts and sending over countless documents multiple times to multiple people. If it goes through it will all be worth it but Beau is in the midsts of madness with it.
My fix comes to an end in February and I was just going to go on the (horrible) SVR for a few months whilst I paid it off but have decided that I think I will just use my savings once my fix is up and pay it all off. This isn’t my emergency fund, just my premium bonds. Though the prize amounts are going up again.
I have switched current accounts to HSBC for £200 but the card has been sent to me home address and I am even further north with work at the moment, luckily I have plenty of money in my Monzo to last me until I get back down south. Once that £200 comes in I shall be throwing £150 of it to the mortgage, and treating beau to dinner with the restMortgage £75,300 (December 2016) Mortgage Free Date December 2051

Well Beau’s flat purchase has fallen through, the bank withdrew the mortgage he had and would no longer offer a 10% deposit option. He is in a bit of a spin and not sure what to do next. My flat contract is up in August, so not too sure what to do about that. I have sorted a viewing for a different flat for him to buy tomorrow.
On my flat and mortgage, I have almost got down to under £26k, so close and hope that by the end of July I will be there. Today I paid £1.10 in interest, shouldn’t be too long before that is under £1 a day.
Off to visit my grandmother this weekend, train tickets are very expensive but haven’t seen her for months so need to be a good granddaughter.
I have my new HSBC bank card, just waiting for the switch bonus to come in.Mortgage £75,300 (December 2016) Mortgage Free Date December 2051

I won £100 on the premium bonds this month, which is lovely after not winning anything for months.
The wins are staying in the PB account as am trying to max out at £50k, but focussing on the mortgage first.
my union are going back to the negotiating table again over pay, so we are expecting 5% in August but hopefully it will go up more. All my spreadsheets are done for 5% so anything extra will be chucked on the mortgageMortgage £75,300 (December 2016) Mortgage Free Date December 2051

No real update on mortgage, need to wait for the next payday. Now that I know it will be gone by February I am wishing my life away.
beau has had his offer accepted on another flat, hopefully this one progresses. It is an ex-rental, no current tenants, and the landlords are in Wales so eager to sell up.I have been able to go on to a monthly tenancy for northern flat, they were really difficult about agreeing to it but thankfully it is done. The plan is to only be here until mid September, that just depends on everything going to plan.Mortgage £75,300 (December 2016) Mortgage Free Date December 2051

Start of the month, overpayment has been made and I am finally under £25k. This feels like a real milestone as I am now mortgage neutral
Beau’s flat purchase is progressing. The valuation was successful and now it is just lots of paperwork between now and living together.
