Meal was ok, not outstanding just ok.  DD2 flies off to the Falklands today.  Need to drop her off at the station and she flies at midnight.  Hopefully she'll be home in February.

DD1 and BF got some more things for the house this week.  Survey at the beginning of October and then things should progress.

Waiting for an architect to contact me re pods and then I can submit planning application, really not sure how much these things cost.  Furniture should be delivered tomorrow but need to confirm the time to make sure somebody's there to get it.  Tumble drier coming on Friday, decided to get one of these with a heat panel and has a great energy rating.  Did have a look at integrated ovens. Really like one with the door that slides underneath, like on bake off.  That's a way off before we do the kitchen in Skye which will be a big project.

  • Hi Lucielle
Hope DD settles in quickly in the Falklands and you don't miss her too much. It's hard when kids fly the nest - but hopefully there are joys for both of you too.

Good luck with the whole planning saga. Will you have to do environmental surveys or pay a developer contribution? I would have thought that kind of thing would be more expensive than the application itself...

I'm really not sure how it all works SH and if its different because its in Scotland.  DD2 has arrived and is isolating, she's having a socially distanced chat with her new employer later on today.

Furniture has also been delivered and will be put in the house on Saturday when its changeover.  Hoping to go up in November but still waiting to hear from the plumber.

Got mince and dumplings cooking in the slow cooker and I'll make cauliflower mash.

I add cream cheese, knob of butter, garlic granules, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.  It does go a bit sloppy but its delish!  Last nights tea was awesome, even if I do say so myself.

Hopefully DD2 is now out of quarantine and is working.  I think she'll be glad to get out and about.  Went to see Bond at the weekend, it was typical Bond and did what it says on the tin.  Loved it!

Met up with friends on Monday night to celebrate their wedding anniversary and had an Indian meal with them.  Been for a sports massage which I was hoping would sort out some arm issues I've been having.  Not sorted but better and I've come out in a lot of bruising where the muscles have been freed off.

OH has contacted the plumber to see if he's still up for the job, he is but not sure when.  I'm so impatient that I want to know yesterday!!  Hate waiting.  Chased the chap about the architect as well, still waiting for a phone call from him.

Booked 2 nights away in a log cabin/shepherds hut with hot tub for my birthday in December, then another 2 nights at my favourite B&B in Keswick, so 4 nights away.  Also booked one of the restaurants for a meal and need to decide where we're eating on the Saturday night.  For the 2 nights in the hut I think I'll get some nice ready meals from M&S or food to have a carpet picnic.

Shepherd hut sounds idyllic if it has some kind of log burner... Love Keswick too. Your plans sound fab.
