I've got a very sore foot and need to go for another scan to see if the cyst that's wrapped around the nerve has grown-hence hoof doctor. Spend too much time with farmers!
Had a lovely weekend with all the chaps and OH. Played crazy golf and came second, normally I'm last so usually written off. I was the dark horse. Met up with s-i-l and b-i-l. It was nice to see them even though it was for a couple of hours. Managed to buy some Christmas presents so got them stashed and hopefully the recipients will forget I've bought them. The chaps drove there, so it was nice to not have to drive at all this weekend.

While I was away I got my Tragus pierced and keep forgetting about it till I answer the phone and clout it, its now a little bit swollen. Fed up as not had any hot water since Wednesday, boiler not holding pressure and leaking hot water (its outside luckily). Plumber has been today and its still not working. Looks like I'm going to have to brave the shower, annoying as I've been to the gym and could've had one there.

I am a cleaner and I like to think I am good 😜 I will move ornaments around to dust, however I don't move clutter (if that makes sense?) So a worktop covered in paperwork gets wiped around, a sideboard with two or three ornaments would get them moved. A sideboard with 30 ornaments would only get them moved completely occasionally depending on the time I had available.
Do they bring their own equipment or do you supply it? I would invest in a long feather duster and leave it out for them and request they use it for cobwebs and skirting boards. Also specifically ask them to close doors to dust and hoover/mop behind (easily forgotten)
Have they cleaned for you for a while? Sometimes it's easy to get into a strong routine when cleaning a house and occasionally it's a good idea to start in a different room it often brings things into focus that may be missed when I am running on autopilot.
Did you take them around when you first hired them? This is so important, as is feedback. Each of my clients has a particular thing, and often don't even know what it is themselves until I have been in a few times. Could be they are particular over their floors, or shiny taps, or behind the toilets, or the sink. Once I know what a clients 'thing' is I ensure this is always done, even on days I am pushed for time. It may be that dust is yours, you need to bring it up with them and follow up with feedback (bad or good).
Ultimately if you are unhappy with the service you are receiving you need to replace them. However I will say that right now in our area we are in huge demand, my boss has a waitlist of over 15 clients!
Sorry for the length of this post, hope it's of some help 😁Debt free Feb 2021 🎉5 -
Hi DAL, all valid points I'll take on board. WE now have hot water and it seems to have been set at a higher temperature which I think is good.
Work has been manic the last couple of weeks hence the silence. We've had a couple of days of 4am starts to get sorted out and caught up. It didn't help one day to arrive at 4 and at 4.10 the printer packed up. 9 am I was at Argos getting another one. The old one needed a maintenance box which I'd ordered and its now come home as a backup printer.
I had the day off yesterday, OH worrying as I haven't been feeling great. Trouble was I felt more tired by the end of the day from doing very little than if I'd been at work.
We've been furniture shopping for the Skye house, couple of comments about the settees not being comfortable. So bitten the bullet and ordered 2 three seaters and a 2 seater. These should be coming in September. In other most exciting news I think we've found a plumber to do the en-suite, that probably wont happen until November. Still chasing the door people to get the new doors sorted as they can sometimes play up when you try to lock them.
I've been trying to do more things on a Sunday, this weekend we're off to look at some pods. This could be potential income for when we move up.

I was a little uninspired by the pods but I think that's down to me and my expectations. We both think its got potential and need to measure up and work out how many to get, where the drains are and check out the planning regulations.
Got the royal wedding next week. Absolutely dreading it but sure it will be fine. Currently looking after a hedgehog and going to drop it in to the local wildlife place tomorrow. Normally (as its no visible signs of injury) I'd get it up to 600g and then release it but as we're going away I thought it best for them to have it.
