Not much to do with money-saving, admittedly, but I dig it up now and then when I need a bit of a chuckle! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

This from Tim_L in the very early days has to be one of my all-time favourites. The tears were streaming as I read it!

There's another thread which I've not been able to find, where the OP was selling his house and the buyers decided to set up camp in his driveway. Cue pages and pages of mirth, as the story took its twists and turns. I'm hoping somebody might know the one I mean and be able to post a link to it.But...but...but... where's the 'chocolate orange for a Christmas present' thread?
I don't think I ever actually saw that one, though I heard/read about itThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I remember in Sept 04 looking on Usenet for frugal forums and up popped this site and I like to think I have contributed too.0

No mention of Martin Lewis's terrible advice to people to put their savings with dodgy Icelandic banks.
How was it terrible? They got all their money back from the FSCS, even though it wasn't liable (in other words, they were bailed out by more prudent savers who didn't put their money in Iceland) and they kept the higher interest. Thanks to Martin's advice they successfully had their cake and ate it.0
