  • Morning all :hello:

Anxiety all round today for one thing and another. Called Nursery again yesterday as they still owe me £150 and it's been 8 weeks. Got fobbed off again  I can see me not getting this back and as it's a private nursery there doesn't seem any escalation options.

I've got an consultants appointment later, luckily the practice manager was helpful as I got totally the wrong referral letter through, hoping the right one will be ready later to collect

Called swimming lessons people to ask why the dd had gone up and we'd not been told, they said it was head office and couldn't help and I need to email as they don't have a phone number, blah, blah blah.... can't wait until we can stop that shenanigans - if it wasn't a life skill....

    Other slightly more positive things:
    Checked banking, all ok.
Realised I'm getting £275 from work next month as I've hit a career milestone. I started when I was about 8 honestly :rotfl: I'll get some vouchers that can go to our bedroom furniture :D
Ham hock cooking in sc with some yellow split peas. Recipe said soak peas overnight, but packet said they can be used straight away, so we'll see.
DH mended td last night with £7 part :T
Little or no heating on today
Must send email about carpet claim

Right must get on. Hope the lergy has cleared offf from those that had it.

    Morning Thursday mince-stretchers,
I'd LOVE to start today's post by telling you that the lergy has gone & I'm back to my bright-eyed, bushy-tailed self, but unfortunately this would be a lie, as it's still very much in evidence. I had to sleep sitting up as laying down instantly triggers the coughing fits, but did manage to get a few more zzzzzzzzz's than yesterday. I've done a few things this morning, but have no energy & apart from cooking dinner, intend to rest for the remainder of the day. I can't believe I haven't yet been ill for a week. It feels like forever. Bah!
*Made a sourdough loaf for baking tomorrow. Fed jar ready for next time.
*Sorted laundry & put away. Only 2 items needed ironing so very cheap on electricity today.
*Paid across home made marmalade sales to Loan Pay Down Fund.
*Make dhal - eating some tonight with rice, but have soaked enough lentils to make plenty & will freeze another at least 4 portions. Will put double garlic in & plenty of chillies & turmeric to help with lergy-busting.
*Do next week's meal plans - have kind of started this in my head, but it needs much more firming up.
*Write shopping list - check stores thoroughly, as we seem to have a fair bit of stuff in.
*Did a Onepoll survey - no Prolific Academic studies for me today, but I did catch up with a project for a brand forum I'm on at the moment. It is minimal work & I've received at least a £5 voucher every month for ages, & they do come in useful for gifts.
    *Entered 1 prize draw.
That's it for today. I will need to dose myself up & rest this afternoon. Will finish reading my book & continue knitting my jumper, but that's as energetic as it's going to get.
Hope other lergyfied friends on here are starting to pick up & that stressed people are managing to vanquish those intrusive anxious thoughts. Hope everyone who isn't posting at the moment is just busy (Hopefully doing good stuff) & not newly lergyfied.
    Take care all,
    F x

  • Good news is that my annoyance on the phone seems to have paid off and the said request for a cheque to be and delivered has happened :D will get banked and go to LPDF :D seems odd that 'the only person who can sign cheques' hasn't been available since I first called in early January but miraculously appeared overnight (rolls eyes)

Other good news, split peas have cooked :T

Also, the sensible woman was working at the carpet shopped when I popped in rather than the owner, who doesn't seem to have a clue tbh. She managed to work out the carpet we needed. Have ordered. Hubster will be pleased.

Still some jobs to do, but am making progress.

    Evening all :)
Managed to get some useful things done today, though it has been a slightly spendy one :o
    *Last blackening banana for breakfast
*Market in next town to buy the week's veg etc. £7 spent there
*Also dropped into garden centre on the way back  to investigate some stepping stone things to put in front of my minaret fruit trees at the back of my rather too wide raised bed. I found some terracotta ones which are not too big, heavy or expensive, so bought 6. Also bought some parsnip seeds. £26.49 spent altogether. Could have been worse! Got the stepping stones home and they are just right for what I wanted, which was to allow access to the fruit trees without trampling down the soil too much. I can't grow anything too close to the trees anyway (though I might plant some wild strawberries or something like that in between the stepping stones :)
*Posted an ebay sale and restocked my sales unit :)
*While I was outside I pulled out the old spinach plants, which were in the way of what I wanted to do. Cut off all the decent leaves before they went in the compost bin :)
    *Paid window cleaner, £11
*Made a big vegetable curry for dinner, to use up the rest of last week's market veg. Also included a big handful of the spinach from the garden :)
    * Made a pineapple upside down cake for pudding, using the rest of the YS pineapple I prepped the other day - haven't made one of those since 1970 something :rotfl:Made up somewhat for the very healthy main course :o (was yummy though!)
*Froze the rest of the spinach
*Froze a leftover portion of stew from yesterday
*Updated spreadsheet with today's spends

My brother had a call from the HA about the flat he has been offered - he can go and look at it next Wednesday apparently :j OH and I are so looking forward to having our house to ourselves again! Hope it doesn't fall through
  • Foxgloves-hoping there is daylight at the end of the lurgy soon

DawnW-fingers crossed about ur brothers flat and everything goes smoothly

Well this week can only be described as a nightmare week, has been horrible and work hasn't been the best-wait and see what happens with one issue.
Ive noticed as stress levels have gone up so has spending, need to work on this.Noticed that I then don't update my spends book either so will def do this tomorrow.

Needed to take my tablet and phone(after it decided to take swimming lessons and dive into the toilet!) to the store about being fixed. One and half hour round trip but the store in town just uses an internet service and charges you an extra £20 for the privilege.Decided to make an outing out of the trip which has done me the world of good. Phone working but taken apart and sitting in rice again tonight as an extra precaution. Chap in the store was doubtful it would work after he found water in the back today but so far it has proved him wrong. I do have insurance on it but do need it working if possible.

The youngest kitty kat needed her stitches out after being speyed.......vets were very good as she took 2 days to catch and I kept them updated. Hand looked worse for wear with alot of blood yesterday morning when kitty kat put up an impressive fight.

Items have been selling on ebay. Plan to get a few more bits on this weekend. I have an aim of getting rid of one item out of the house a day in a bid to sort it out. Not doing great but hopefully will be able to do a tip run tomorrow

have a great evening everyone x

    Lol @ Typhoid Mary

Yes, sorry, Foxgloves, as someone who has been through the menopause and come out the other side with life still in me it probably wasn't the best. I was working again today, the boss wasn't in but I believe she has has words with some of the others as they have all been on their best behaviour.

Things with the cheaper printer aren't going well, it's been a working week now and they still can't get the first proof right, never again!

My new next door neighbour's cat got run over, I saw a post on FB with the description and realised they were talking about outside my house, I'm so relieved it wasn't my cat because one of mine looks very similar to theirs.

Dinner tonight was ham, egg and chips, one of my favourites!

I spent yesterday covering my card holders in fabric so they look the part in the shop they will be going into which is all things vintage, I'm quite pleased with them, I sewed the seams and everything!

Now I'm considering buying some fabric to make some bunting to sell at a forthcoming craft fair as well as my other stuff. I just can't switch my brain off at night, I get a bee in my bonnet about some crazy money making scheme, load my basket up with all sorts of stuff (I never actually get to paying) and then in the morning think '!!!!!! was that all about??!'

  • Ooo can I join this please? I probably do loads of little things that make odd pennies here and there - it would help my motivation hugely to document them somewhere.

    Today I have:

Finally taken an old £1 coin I found on the floor to the bank to be exchanged and put it in my debt jar.
    Prolific academic survey
    3 x swagbucks surveys
Cashed out a £5 amazon voucher from Swagbucks - now have enough amazon vouchers to cover my son's birthday present
Bought some buns and crisps to keep in my car - hopefully to avoid the extortionate after-school trips to the cake shop with ravenous children
    Dinner from store cupboard
Turned heating down and snuggled with my blanket
Bought washing soda and soap to make laundry gloop
Bought 29p birthday cards to put away to save last minute dash to Asda for £2 birthday cards

    Think thats it for today
Total debts £21050! now £10941. 76. Total extra income made in Jan22 £109. 27 Feb 22 £45.25 Total extra income made in 2022 £154.52 Aiming for debt free at 45 - 41 months to go!

CLF, I would have been mortified to come out of the loo and face to face with my boss. I can't remember if I've told this story before but at work, as a chronic IBS sufferer, I would *always* use a loo on a different floor to the one I worked on. When I was made redundant a few years ago (they relocated) my first freelance booking was at a place with only one loo but just *happened* to be five minutes from my old building and I just *happened* to have my old pass still so I would leave the office and walk back to the old building to use the loo :o
