    Hi February Fabulistas,

It's another day off at the Dowds. :j

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:

    * Good, homemade, sustaining breakfast. Omelette a la Leftoevres.

    * Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App. I am a lot better than I was a fortnight ago. Go me!

    * Check online banking and broadband usage.

    * Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.

    * Today's entertainment is a trip on the ferry to the local Isle of Cumbrae at a bargain price of £3.20 each return. We can walk to the terminal, it's not far. Then we'll walk for a wee bit and DW will do some photogra-faffing. We're taking some YS snacks from Morrison's (98p) and a wee flask of coffee.

    * Mince out of freezer to defrost for special lasagne tonight. DW buys mince and then freezes it in wee bags in portions. This has revolutionised and reduced our meat usage.

To live without risk is to risk not living.

    Morning Tuesday Frugalistas,
Well, the lergy is still much in evidence but I did have a much better night's sleep. I've done a few jobs this morning, but intend to rest this afternoon & hopefully, if dosed up with cold capsules & Corvonia, I will feel well enough to go to my meeting tonight. So today's non-spendy activity:
*NSD - even if I do manage to go out tonight, I am aiming for free parking.
*Washed hair & am letting it dry naturally, as I often, but not always do, to save a bit of electricity.
*Jacket potato night tonight. I fancy tuna melt & salad on mine. mr f has excavated leftover pork chilli from the freezer.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks. I have mentioned these before, but the pack of tiny lidded plastic pots I bought from the £ shop a few years ago, have been so useful for work snacks.....things that cost a lot if bought individually ready-made but are barely even pence when you buy a big pack & make up your own at home.....things like muesli, granola, nuts, mini fruit-filled wheat cereals, dried fruit, etc. I fill a load up at once & then just vary the selection for packed lunch boxes through the week.
*Rifled pantry for a jar of home made preserves for a raffle prize. Tarted up jar with nice tag & shiny bow & it looks pretty enough to win.
*Tried out a gifted box of staples in my stapler. Yep, they fit. Something else to cross off the 'Need to buy' list.
*Checked paypal account for Toluna payment. No sign of it yet.
*Did a few surveys......another Prolific Academic has taken me over £30, & another £2.50 to come as soon as my contributions have been verified.
    *Re-listed an ebay item.
*Knit more of my jumper. Didn't do any last night after all my good intentions as the lergy just wiped me out.
That's a really boring list, but I don't have the energy for anything more exciting at the moment. I am longing for this lergy to be gone, then I can get on with my veg-growing plans & resume my fitness walks, as well as various outings we really want to go on. So it's going to be knitting, hot water bottle & TV this afternoon.
Hope all other Poorlies are starting to turn a corner. Ally - glad you are feeling a bit less stressed too.
    Cheers,
    F x

FVD - Your colleagues sound as though it's only the back-stabbing that keeps them so cheerful, lol! I, too, would struggle to put up with that kind of behaviour, as have difficulties keeping the famous 'Foxgloves gob' shut, so you're doing well to stick it out. I am, however, going to object to your use of the term 'menopausal' in a perjorative sense. As someone newly in this biological category, I don't see why the fact that I am no longer young enough to have periods defines me as a person who would act in the unacceptable snidey manner you describe! Also, as we are all living longer (average life expectancy of women in UK = 83 years, average age at menopause = 51), we will be living over a third of our lives post-menopause & will be needing to continue trying to overturn all the tired old stereotypes about older women being past it. (There's many a good tune played on an old fiddle!)
So I am objecting to the use of 'menopausal' when intended as an insult, & with my feminist hat firmly on, am standing up for us older Lovelies!
As for your colleagues, I wouldn't want to work with them! I'd be worried one of them might try to push me under the bacon slicer, as I have always found it difficult not to speak up about injustices at work. It sounds like a really classic case of the most idle members of staff being the ones who keep up the loudest pretence of being rushed off their feet & having to do all the work, when the reality is that quieter team members are just dilligently getting on with it on a daily basis. As for checking up to see if you were really in the loo....I agree, that's just offensive! It's the sort of management behaviour we hear about from some of these big unethical zero-hours employers, but not from where you work. You must find you're having to bite your tongue all the time. Am going to hope you suddenly have a 10 x upsurge in card sales & can tell them to stuff it!

Lovely day spent photographing porpoises and bird-life; a mainly-sunny day. :D

Just hope that I can collect the repaired car later as planned.

Still awaiting news. The wait is excruciating.

    Urgh...car isn't ready!

At this rate, if it isn't ready by 12.30pm tomorrow I'm going to have to go to work by public transport tomorrow. 2.5 hours to get there and 3 hours to get home. Instead of a 25 min drive out and the same back.

    Morning folks!

Where did everyone go last night? Was there a party that I didn't get invited to?

I hope all the lurgy sufferers are feeling better today. And I hope that Ally gets her car back!

Today's list will look very similar to yesterday's. But hooray it's my "Friday". I'm taking a little rest day from the gym today. Back in on Thursday and Friday. I'm starting to get back into the swing of it now... just in time for the CrossFit Open!

    *B/L/D from stores - done
    *Be healthy and great
*Relax and be calm - did anyone notice that I wrote CLAM before?
*Dye my hair (didn't do it yesterday)
*Charge phone in work - done
*Go for a walk at lunchtime - done
*Asked Oh to put the wash outside - done
    *Quick tidy round
    *Crochet
    *No alcohol
    *Early night

    Have a good one all

Ally - the wildlife photos were lovely. Wow, a whimbrel. I learn something everyday!

Ziggy - I reckon you & I have the same lergy. Dosed up on cold capsules & Corvonia last night, I managed to get to my meeting & didn't feel too bad, but have had a shocking night's sleep. Woke up at 1.05am & really only dozed now & again after that. Mr f has brought be breakfast in bed with a side order of paracetamol & instructed me to stay there!
So money saving efforts will be pathetic today & will consist of:
*Not being well enough to go out & spend money.
*Reading a novel that my sister lent me.
    *Knitting my jumper.
    *Freezing l/o chicken drumsticks.
    *Making tomorrow's packed lunch.
Would love Cat to come & keep me company, but he's sulking because he wasn't allowed on our cream bedspread earlier with soggy filthed up paws. He's clearly intended to dry them on the bedspread & took a very dim view of being run out of the room by mr f, who had spotted a trail of muddy pawprints & bits of old barkchips & leaves heading in this direction.
Wishing everyone a decent day today & that any difficult issues turn out not to be as bad as anticipated.

    Morning all :)
Up bright and early because I had an asthma review checkup at the doctor's at 8.25  Now done, and second cup of coffee being consumed!
    Today's plans look like this:
Another blackening banana for breakfast
    RM surveys tasks
Must do some cleaning, at least the bathroom!
Make some soup for lunch (better get on with this!)
Dog to groomer's for 11.30 (not MSE but he looks like a small mop at the moment, and none too clean either! :rotfl:)
A bit more paperwork for my business (trying to rationalise my various stock lists into one)
Find and pack an ebay item, though posting can wait till tomorrow
Might do a bit in the garden later - my hanging baskets need redoing (I plant strawberries in them :))
Stew made yesterday in the SC for dinner

Cleaning first I think, as this is what is most likely to get put off!
