Hmm Pigpen 17 is a funny age, managed a 25 mile car journey with mine last week and he didn't speak a single word. DS1 however can chatter away non-stop for hours when he gets going

Normally she never shuts up but you ask her a question and she goes dumb.. whether it is what prom dress she wanted or what colour she wants her room decorating or any little thing.. she drives me nuts.. otherwise she never shuts up.

    Morning

I want to confess :(. On Tuesday evening DS bought me a 'present' - a large bag of mixed M&Ms. The thought was lovely - but my heart sank - temptation. I put the bag in the cupboard and I've been thinking who I could give them to .... until last night :( After DS went off to Lincoln to [STRIKE]get hammered[/STRIKE] celebrate a friend's birthday, I ate the whole bag :o. Lessons ([STRIKE]hopefully[/STRIKE]) learned: 1. tell DS to not buy me chocolate please. 2. after the first couple of mouthfuls I didn't even enjoy the sweets it was just an exercise in emptying the bag (I've started, so I'll finish!). 3. today I feel physically rubbish - and this is how I used to feel all the time (I know why now, if I didn't before!!).

I'm going to have a very strict weekend to try and detox - and I'm praying that I don't have to go through 'withdrawal' again :(. I am an idiot :( And I am definitely my own worst enemy!

I think it's time I started to be my own best friend!

Flying: I had a mosey round Mr W!!kos yesterday - looking at cleaning stuff!!!!! Who knew that could be enjoyable :D Came out with cleaning cloths and sponges, and stuff for the toilet, bath, mould and kitchen sink plughole - and a Mother's Day card. :D But nothing done yesterday other than the dailies as I called to see mum and dad, plus visited a friend / watched Olympics / started a new book.

So far today I've: made the bed; fed the birds (went out in my dressing gown as I was late up, the birds were waiting, it's cold out there, and I'm soft :D); sorted the washing and set WM x 1 swishing, and had a cup of tea.

Time to get washed and dressed, WUDUPA, put out rubbish and recycling, unload WM and bring down Christmas presents to take to Jackie's, who's expecting me at 10.30 am.

    Better crack on then.

I hope you are all having a lovely sunny Saturday.

Round... with big bags of sweets I found a trick that helped.. I divide the big bag into little bags of 25-40g depending on what it is.. I then keep them in different places about the house... if I went to a drawer and there were 10 bags of sweets I'd grab a couple at least but if I have to walk about to gather them up, I am too lazy to do that.. I also have a piece of fruit first to see if that quells my munchies.. it rarely works but it leaves less room for yummies when there is an apple and a yoghurt in there.

Also.. mixing the sweets into a yoghurt or sprinkling on a bit of ice cream means you get the sweet fix and also have the munchy squishing effect of something containing less sugar.

my brain is a bit stupid and easily fooled .... other times I full on deny myself because I am a pig!

and argh!!!! my hands are so darn itchy! Allergy to the acrylic on the nails is a nuisance!

I guess I should move and achieve something/anything..

    TD
    DW
    WM
    hang up wet stuff
    sort after swimming snacks
    get girls dressed and brushed
    lunch

scrape all floor gubbins into the middle of the floor and boss everyone else to put it away.. it's not my stuff and I'm not doing it!

1 hour and 20 minutes to get it all done... best move!

    Morning all
Wm run and washing hung up outside in the freezing sunshine. Just because I am fed up with having washing indoors, and who knows, it might even get dry. It includes an inherited bedspread which was on the RoD floor. Once it is washed and dried it will be off to the dogs' charity. And off the bedroom floor.
Bird feeders filled and water topped up for them.
Sweet pea seeds planted, but I had to dig into the middle of the compost bag as it was frozen at the edges. That's a first.
Oh and weigh in....I can't remember what I was last week, but it certainly wasn't 6lb lighter since January, so I think that must have been a couple of pounds decluttered somehow this week.
Coffee next, as DH is wittering on the pc and driving me nuts.
    Have a lovely day. X

Had a coffee then had an attack of 'the runs'. Back to bed until I felt more able to face the world. Am now showered and fed and feel fine...and there
I was expecting a bug with the accompanying symptoms.

    DW x 1 WM and TD x 2

Lovely sunny day here - but cold.

I used to be presented with sweets by an ex every time I started a diet - and all meals suddenly became high fat and high carb and. In that case, it was blatant sabotage, as proven by my finding him sneakily melting half a pack of butter into a pan of baked beans 'to make them glossy' after I'd got the hang of not eating the sweets and cakes and takeaways that kept on turning up in the house .

Himself, for all his shortcomings in the catering realm, will get me pots of preprepared fruit for a treat - so last night, I had strawberries, melon, kiwi fruit and grapes, along with sliced up banana. On other days, I've had blueberries, strawberries and apple - and so on.

It's difficult to overeat on fruit (unless you have a dodgy tummy) - and, despite prepared fruit being relatively expensive, it's actually cheaper per 100g than chocolate.

Noticed that Himself dealt with the massive arachnid candy floss that swept around the bedroom ceiling. It makes a difference, even if today's sunshine is showing up just how much the place needs a thorough scrub from top to bottom. I think I'll stick to doing something with the vast array of clothes today.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

maidenful of ironing done and I have realised, actually, I am not 100%. Marvellous. Because, come Monday I will be fit as a fiddle, no doubt.

I'm going to pace myself today.

Hope you feel better later Valli.

Hello flyladies. I've had a really busy morning.

    Walked dogs
    Spent an hour gardening
Went to jumble sale where I picked up a bath mat to use for the snuffle mats for the dogs (50p)
Went to an open day (doggy stuff with free samples, yay)

Just had a quick lunch. I'm going to do the dishes next and then take the dogs for a long walk in the sunshine. Later I will dig up the last of the leeks in the garden, bath the dogs and do some decorating.

Go me. Hope you all having a mostly good day.
Spend less now, work less later.

*Healing vibes* for your poorly tummy, Valli. Why does it always happen at the weekend?

Another box file and a drop in file filleted into the recycling with a tiny amount going up to the attic for six years. More space created. Good. Scrap paper mountain de-stapled for cutting up.

Another kettle of boiling water tipped over the green gunge on the front steps. It's taken years and years to find something that killed it and now that we have we've done most of the sundeck and that completes the steps. Now to start on the path. at a kettle a day.

Monthly list of tasks assigned to days for March to see if that works as a system; all those niggley jobs that just get left and left until it seems like it'll take forever to sort the place out.

The filing mountain has been reduced to less than an inch again.

The health and welfare lasting power of attorney will get most of the signatures needed this afternoon and then it can be sent off for the final one. I have to say that while it was a daunting task from a standing start, once I'd read the information on here, both Martin's advice and the threads on how to do it, doing it online has been very straightforward. As soon as I realised that the organisation that wanted to charge me £180 for them was actually run by ex-insurance salesmen I realised I was bright enough to do it for myself. He wasn't even a legal executive, just a salesman. I thoroughly recommend doing it yourself to everyone so that if a crisis ever happens at least you don't have to worry about whether you can act for someone in their best interests. It's also made me really think through what I'd like to happen to me if I were incapable of making decisions on my own behalf.
    Better is good enough.
