MSE News: Sky to increase prices for some...

I logged into my account yesterday and followed your steps. I was given the same offer as yourself which is Free broadband for 12 months and £18.99 line rental. This is cheaper than my existing rate so quite happy with this. Even if they bump line rental by a couple of quid shortly it works out ok for me.
I'm out of minimum term and when I go through the 'I want to cancel' route I'm told to call them, I'll maybe try tomorrow just to see how the land lays.0 -

Same here, "you can not view your offers online contact us on this number"0 -

I did not click on offers, I clicked on manage and there was a “thinking of cancelling” option.
That's where I (and probably @SeeMe) went through.
I've just tried a livechat since it came up almost immediately (not much snow in India
) and got offered the poor £10 off for 12 months on an 18 month contract 'deal'.
When the snow's cleared here I'll try a phone call but I'm thinking we'll be changing our phone number and supplier when we move.0 -
I received my letter a few days ago informing me about the price rise.
When I took out my Sky contract I actually wanted Fibre instead, but it wasn't ready in my area yet. Now that it is ready I was sitting out the Sky contract so that I would either sign up for fibre or switch provider and do the same. Therefore, this seems like a great chance for me to get out early and get fibre with another provider.
I've found a deal that I'm planning to switch to, and I'm just trying to work out the best process.
Originally, I was planning to sign up for the new deal, choose a starting date, and then get in contact with Sky to let them know. However, I noticed on the other provider's website that they can handle the switch for you, and I'm never need to speak to Sky.
Has anyone had any experience at all of switching providers in this way? And what about in instances like this, do you think I'm asking for something to go wrong and me getting overcharged?0 -
Check the letter .
Usual is you must phone and cancel your service .Just inform them you will be cancelling under Ofcom rules .
Then start your switch .
Switching without doing so usually means charges for a broken contract .0 -
That was my concern - I'll definitely be phoning them then. Much appreciated0
