Thanks oneday. Been looking through the numbers today and have decided August of next year is far to long to be in debt so have refocused and now hoping to clear all this by xmas 2018. Not entirely sure how achievable that will be but should certainly be able to improve on August regardless and it doesn't hurt to dream does it ? cheap few days for me so far just waiting for Friday to come so i can sort all these lovely payments out. Renewal price on insurance should come through next week to and have already found quotes for under 1k a year compared to the 1.5k im currently paying so happy with that and still waiting to see what my renewal price is.

In other news i wrote my first story for the kids yesterday and gonna test it out at bedtime tonight. Had to print it off as any story without a book is immediately discredited by them for some reason.

Also started writing poetry again which is something i have always enjoyed but haven't done for a few months. Hoping to get some personalised ones sold soon as made a fair bit when i was doing it last year & helped pay for the wedding.

wish me luck with the story 4 year olds can be such harsh critics :)

There's a thread in the DFW Challenges section called pay off all your debt by xmas 2018 may be an idea to post updates in there and keep yourself motivated - doesn't hurt to dream at all and if you've got that date in your head then it must be manageable - good luck :)

I have my driving test in a few weeks and been testing out quotes for different cheap runarounds its horrendous.

Well done on the story and best of luck with the reading!! :)
Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:

Thanks oneday will have a look at that in abit. Best of luck with the insurance its a minefield also try tweeking your job position around i can give myself about 5 different job titles all of which are true and theres a difference of about £150 between them so that may be worth having a look at.

thanks Toni's friend its something ive always loved doing just rarely find the time for nowadays. But the boys loved it which is the main thing and have asked if they can have that story every night. so im gonna chalk that up as a win :).

Pay day tomorrow cant wait to pay some bills off and clear at least 1 of the debts for good.

Not a bad start to the day checked my account this morning to see i had a extra £220 in my wages as the marriage tax allowance had been backdated (thank you very much MSE) spent the morning paying some bills current figure stands at £16936 down from £18400 so happy with that and should be around £16400 by Tuesday once all the Direct Debits get taken out. :)

If it was easy we wouldn't all be in debt. You're doing fantastic! Cutting down debtors left right and centre.
What would motivate you? Telling yourself when you can move out? Building a savings pot for moving out? I know you want to be making more payments but you are doing it the best way. The only way of getting extra payments is selling stuff. I did that a lot and it cut my debts right down to begin with. Really motivated me too.
Keep up the great work x

Thanks Kitten & congrats on the 25% paid. main thing thats motivating me is just seeing those numbers go down i was tempted by a savings pot for moving out but i want to be 100% free of debt before i do so figured the sooner there gone the sooner i can start to save. Once all gone i should be able to put away £1200 a month towards the moving out fund not including a hopefully substantial pay rise that im hoping for next month. I am tempted to start getting rid of some stuff but there isn't really that much i have to get rid of other then a 50 inch TV but they seem to only sell for around £75-£100 so might just keep it till we're back in our own place.
