DS had got a job. Starts Monday. A friend is letting him use her accommodation for free most of July so that will be good for all of us I imagine, although I will miss him.
He either hits the target set within a month or he is out. A basic sales role with commission. He's keeping his freelance work on top initially. If it works out he'll rent a room in a shared house...
Pleased for himAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Blackcats. DD and I had a takeaway for tea. The blokes are doing vegan... LOL... DS has lost loads of weight though so it has been good for him so far. Took the dog for a walk earlier so of course it poured down with rain. Did get a little time to myself in a pub garden with a soft drink earlier though which was nice. I am also currently colouring postcards as an easy to carry stress-reliever!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That's a gorgeous view, one to sit and breathe in, soak it all up.
Great news about DS. While you will miss him, there's space and a little more quiet which will do you good.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -

Glad you are still getting out and about. Congrats to DS on the job!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

I know you haven't had it easy recently but hope that you can see some light coming now. DS and DD are doing very well you've managed to have some quality time out for yourself. Looking at August for DFD. No rush, just one day at a time.

DH ended up taking DS to new city. About 40 mins ago.... DS took all day getting ready despite mentioning it this morning.
I did go to an antique place but there was nothing special there - well not that I needed right now anyway. They do have a rocking chair £60, some beautiful tiffany style lamps that I liked - £118-169. I also really liked a dragon with people rowing at the first antique place... I took a picture... debating whether to go back for it... It was a more reasonable £28. I thought my son might like it... or perhaps me for another day... I could write a story around it... and use it on a cover... Trying to justify here.... It was originally £43! May be able to bargain them down... excuses, excuses, excuses. I don't need it...
I have done a couple of 80 x 30 canvases. Part using up some pre-mixed older paint and trying out different effects. One is kind of shades of metallic green and grey - more for potential sale than as something for our house. The other is more my kind of colours - I mixed some black into some left over green metallic paint and it made a nice charcoal grey effect. I then added turquoise, cadmium red and gold. It looks gorgeous. Need to see how they both dry. Despite trying to wear gloves - I went through multiple pairs and still got paint all up my arms.
DH is happy though as because my paints moved out of the garage into the kitchen (there's no good place for them) - he will be able to put his motorbike back away.
I have a beautifully pinky lilac sky outside as the sun is setting.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
