If you can get away with a different current account you wont have to pay for business banking. There is no rule that says you have to have a business bank account because you have a business.

I have done the home working tax reclaim - it really does take less than a minute. I've sent the link to DH. I get paid Friday - can't wait. Planning to pay a lump sum off debt. Current scores on the doors:
Target card: 5938
Card 2: 4918
Card 3: 5773
Card 4: 1500
£18,129
Plus 4 x £67 for DH's car bill between now and Feb
Cleaner's coming tomorrow. Highlight of the week - other than payday Friday.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I also got a £21 gift card via £co. DD is having an interview right now - including a computer test. She was 10 minutes late as she had pc problems. I really hope it doesn't go against her. DS's business is looking up. He seems to realise he can't afford commute and co-working space and that if he redirected that £ he could pay off his debts and get his own place. He's therefore thinking of serving notice on it. We had asked him to quarantine before seeing my parents at Xmas anyway. £ wise - I've had a rush of unbudgeted bills at the end of the month - and DS borrowed £155 from me... so having to spend a bit more of the patio £. Oh well - top it up Friday - but it does mean I won't be able to repay as much as I want this month.
Business bank account still being verified which is a blow as I need that to take the next step. Oh well I'd best sign on to work now.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Bills are looking good.
Hope DD gets an offer and treats this one as experience for future interviews.
DS sounds like he is now thinking about financial matters, even with prompts.
Business accounts are taking longer than normal, hopefully that will get sorted out soon.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Always so much happening at your house! I'm tired just reading about all the plates you spin 😅. It always seems to be that our plans for our money get scuppered by unforeseen spending. My car stopped working yesterday - apparently steering column broken which means Ignition etc doesn't work - no idea how that happened but at least it decided
to break at home and not leave me stranded somewhere.Keep safe x4 -
Great news about the book! Do send me a link when you upload it. Hope the business account gets sorted soon."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

Well it has been an early payday for me - so I have sent £1K to our target card reducing it to £4938. Need to chase a date for the patio. Topped up the EF and patio fund a little - but need DH's £ this time next week before it is fully funded again.

It's all still valuable experience. Most of the supermarkets are taking on Christmas temps, it would be worth DD looking to see if there are any local positions.
There's normally loads of flights to / from P, very cheap too. The time it takes to fly across and the cost of the flight, it's no different to going somewhere for a weekend, but with better weather. With spare rooms I wouldn't be surprised if you saw people more than normal, had quality time with them and they had a mini break at the same time. It's definitely a viable option.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Can we all have a link to the book please?
Re Portugal move. My ideal would be renting someone else's house for 3-6 months of the year. Same with Greece or Spain but no idea how to go about it?
A 2 hour test for DD? Crazy! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
