Thanks RS - I will aim to do it by the end of the week for me and DH. I've been in touch with the patio people they are still hoping to go ahead mid November but haven't given a firm date. I've offered to pay for the materials early if it helps - they are friends of ours so I trust them... I wish I had a firm date though - as I've set aside £2.5K to pay for it - but if it is delayed until after next payday - I could pay some of it off debt now. Either way - I'm planning next month to pay about £500 to clear my spending CC and then between £1.5-2K off debt.... Itching to do it sooner but don't want to not have enough to pay the workmen. December I am aiming for a similar amount. If we succeed - we will end the year owing under £14K - which would mean we'd repaid over £11K during this weird year despite doing work on the house. Targeting to clear the rest by the middle of next year. Now just need to be disciplined enough to follow through.

Pooch is on her season and unusually for her has been throwing up. If it continues today - will ring the vet. DD would have been eligible for furlough under the new rules - so will see if they agree to keep her on after all or whether she burned her boats the other night. She is due in for a shift tomorrow. I am struggling with the lack of forward plan by govt - but support the lockdown - just feel it isn't tight enough to do the trick. Altho my virus app shows rates fell by a third in my area last week. It's all very confusing. Interesting that some parts of the country are fighting to shut schools - I think they should go to online teaching for the older kids for our protection... but DD does learn better from face-to-face.

I agree that the lock down doesn't go far enough and seriously doubt that come the 2nd December that we will go back to the tiered approach. I firmly believe that we will be in this lock down version 2 for a lot longer than one month.
  • Grab a brew and do the WFH relief while drinking it. Then it's one less thing to do.
Hopefully you should get your patio date soon.
Definitely apply for PIP, there's loads of guidance and threads about it in the ben section.

You are making loads of progress again.  I've done the WFH tax thing, it was really quick.

Your plans for the house and debt are very exciting.  Enjoy the writing challenge!

Sounds like lots of progress being made with the CCs.
I am going to try for the wfh tax thing aswell, it's supposed to be easy but I must admit I hate doing anything tax related.
