You have to be ruthless when going through things. I looked at something and gave myself a second to decide, then it went in the bag, bin or bedroom unit. I've refused to think about what's in the bags and haven't looked in them since doing it. I know it's hard, but you will appreciate the difference and space.

Sounds like you have transformed your garden and are doing amazing things in the house. Well done for shopping from home 😉. Working from home is great but for a prolonged time is challenging. I read that if you don't have dedicated work space where you can shut the door at the end of the day then just having a cardboard box that you put all your work paraphernalia in during non working hours can help. I'm sure you could work your creative magic on a cardboard box to transform it into a useful thing of beauty.I'm finding that I have lost the work life balance battle to work rather than life. There is so much to do and I keep doing "one more thing" rather than stopping and walking away. It's not a virtuous thing to do and is just as draining as feeling non productive so maybe we could meet in the middle of the life/work blend balance and both feel a bit better 🥂7

I like the sound of repainting the kitchen cupboard doors Savings. Is the Wicks paint the one you were looking out for as the best one? Is there a reason you think it is superior? Thanks. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

I rested Saturday so my plans will take a little longer. Wilk0 paint was recommended but I chose to it because they could deliver. In fact it came early so double win
I am wide awake which is irritating as I just want to sleep. Ate another couple of strawberries from the garden earlier. I also have quite a few flowers on my tomatoes. I think I would have grown veg more often if I had realised how pretty they could be.

Thanks Jwil - it took me until closer to 3 am before I did but I eventually got some sleep.
DD has been painting again today. It is her phone renewal time - and when I looked at the options it looked cheaper to buy her phone outright on Am**** and then get her a sim from v0x1 at £10 pcm for 12gb plus endless social media.Am- offered a deal where I could pay it over 5 months so I took that - and paid on a CC for now. I've been paying bits and pieces of that card off through the month - I don't count it in my debt - at the moment as I am using it as protection in case companies go bust / don't deliver etc. I have enough in savings currently to cover it - however my CC bill for this month was £0 for that card so it won't actually be due for payment until July payday. Still not heard anything more re uni accommodation - makes us wonder if the staff are all furloughed.
I planted on a couple of tomato plants today as the weather has been quite a bit better. DH had a nap this afternoon so never got our planned walk which is a shame. The neighbours got an offer in the first week for the asking price but are hoping for more - which suggests with some elbow grease we can raise the value of our house too so will keep plodding (with DD) for redecoration, decluttering etc. We are about to have a lovely roast chicken dinner. Hope you all are having a good weekend.

There are some pretty decent SIM only deals and just goes to show how expensive the phone side of it is.
Now you know figures for the neighbours property, it will give you the push to get yours done so you can progress with your plans. Properties with a decent garden will be hot favourites after being stuck inside for a while, as people have had a lot of time to think about what they want from life.

I agree with MF. I read in one of the many papers I have been reading online through this pandemic, that Flats used to be the most searched for accommodation, but this has now changed to Houses with Gardens or outside private space. Covid has made us all realise that we need our own space outside just in case, and people want enough space to be able to use it, if that's for growing your own food or fitting a hot tub. Hopefully, you will be in a position to buy your next property soon. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Hi guys - well I was wide awake from 6am this morning so used that time to journal and clear my head. My weight's gone back up about 4lb - so need to shift that again and recommit to my diet. DD's doing well with the redecorating but is slow. Glad I set the hourly rate on the low side
Work may allow some people to return to the office soon so it will be interesting to see a) how many people take it up and b) how that works out. I understand it will be voluntary initially - although I worry I could become isolated if not visible and others were so I need to think about that. DH has to go in the office tall his week which is a concern as he is diabetic. It is for a special event rather than perm but I still worry. It will also erode our fuel saving which is a shame.
In more positive news I walked 1.8 miles with pooch yesterday - slowly but I made it. On countdown now until our chairs come Thursday. Storing the old ones for 6 days until the bulky waste people come for them could be a challenge. Let's hope they can come sooner. I asked them to ring me if they could. I plan to start work early for me - with a view to either a long lunch break or an earlier finish! Wish me luck!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
