It's been really windy here the last couple of days - hope things improve soon. Not been able to sped as much time in the garden due to the wind. Some more strawberry and tomato plants arrived yesterday so I have potted them on. I took pooch for a walk around midnight. Today I forgot to take my tablets until 4pm so am experimenting with just taking 1 painkiller (N) instead of 2 different ones and then will see what happens - and then will take another tablet later.
I am making slow progress with my book. I have decided a UK price and size of the book so getting there slowly. Am about to upload it onto a free type setting formatting website to get in the right format for publishers other than Am****. I think I now know how to sort the barcode for free. I've also done little bits of editing for the start of book 2 - and want to write more but keep being interrupted! So I am now procrastinating on here instead LOL.

A very positive day and your leg must be having a good day as it's unusual to forget a med when it's pain related. Fingers crossed your experiment works.
Slow progress is good progress. Please don't procrastinate, tick one thing off your to do list a day to keep momentum going.

Well done on getting the ISBN numbers sorted. I had no idea so much was involved before publishing.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I've had a relaxing few days which has been fab. I've done a lot of fantasy book reading and investigated options for possible covers. I'm thinking of paying for a professional bespoke design. I've found a designer I really like but I would have to wait until mid to end July. Mulling it over. It would give me time to save up!
Picked up more compost and bark today. Planted out peppers, chives and some of the leeks. I put one of the potted cucumber plants outside as it is at least 4 foot high already! Highlight of today was when a neighbour cut down two trees that were over 60ft tall. We've been worried what would happen if they fell - as previous branches the size of small trees have broken off in our garden in previous high winds. The trees being gone has let more light onto the new veg patch already. DH wants us to go ahead with getting the patio done. We potentially could - money wise the timing's not the best but it would make the garden more usable. We could either put the new chairs on a 0% deal or be in debt a month or two longer. However if we did go ahead with selling our house in future - I think it would add value.
Back to working tomorrow. Will try putting in earphones to drown out others noise I think and see if that helps. Pain has been worse today but did do work in the garden so that could be why.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

A custom cover would be great for your book and potentially make it stand out even more.
When you start picking the veg, do tell us if you get any odd shaped or huge ones. Having the extra light and new patio will make a difference, the garden with be a lovely place to relax and unwind, with the added benefit of opening it up to more buyers if you do sell.
Hope your leg eases ready for tomorrow.

Happy Belated birthday!!! Gosh you always sound so busy!Very exciting on the book front and your garden sounds lovely. if you think you will enjoy/use the patio and if you can make it work financially then this summer is probably the time to do it, We are all spending so much more time at home, making home better for us is important.3

I spoke to the IFA again today as I got a new transfer value through for my pension and it had gone up £30K! He is going to contact a different pension specialist to see if they will take on my case and then come back to me. I still want to do it.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi guys. Well I am gradually increasing my hours. I have tried to get the family to help me by interrupting less often and am wearing ear-buds more which is helping too. My garden is still doing well. Today I planted out 2 cucumbers and 3 tomato plants. I am almost out of compost again already. DH mowed the lawn so used that as a mulch on top of the potato plants. Some of my dwarf bean plants are already flowering as are some of my tomato plants. I picked a few salad leaves today to eat with my jacket spud etc today so that was exciting - my first harvest. My chard has germinated. No idea where I am going to plant some of my seedlings. Think I will need to do a lot of inter-planting to fit everything in. Money-wise we are doing reasonably ok although we gave in to a couple of takeaways and are still overspending on both food and the garden. We've decided to go ahead and get the patio done. Just awaiting confirmation of a date now.
Need to get back on track diet wise - I have regained 6lbs in 2 weeks after going off the wagon since DD's birthday and then mine too. I have a grocery delivery coming tomorrow night. DH and I took pooch for a walk yesterday. Did just over a mile.
DS's freelance work is going well and he has been offered work that could easily take him 6 hours a day, 5 days a week at a really good rate. He is still getting used to his ADHD meds though - so while it has been helping - he is still struggling. We were helping out our cleaner until she got her grant so have stopped now. She said she might come back soon but hasn't yet so I've offered to pay DD to do some of the cleaning - really hoping she follows through. DH did some cleaning today and cooked tea. I cleaned one loo. It all adds up - but we need to do more.
I've not heard anything more from the IFA about the pension but really hoping he comes through for me. He's making good money for his clients even in this climate... I've been cutting my own hair. DH is going to re-shave his - probably number 2. DD has cut at least an inch off her hair. DS is the only one who hasn't tried hair cutting yet LOL. He has said he may let DD do it. I still need to make a decision (and let the person know) if I want to go ahead with the designer I found for my book. I've paused the book stuff for a few days - as especially with upping my work hours I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Right I am off to catch up on some diaries...
