Hi EH - thanks for being all cross on my behalf. I appreciate it. At that practice - if you request a repeat script they count on the front desk in front of you how many tablets you were issued and how long it should have lasted and tell you whether you are entitled to more or not yet.... I don't think it is a lone individual. You are right though - it upset me. I will be more on guard in future. I just took DS to get my meds - and they initially said come back in 2 days as the GP had issued about 4 different things at once. I sent him back for my urgent thing as it is the third time this week we've gone for it as I tried to request it last week.  DH has had to order a larger cuff before I can attempt BP monitoring. I find the machine itself very painful though so not sure it will work out.

On the physio - because of  the risk to the individual physio and client of the virus - the private physios are describing to patients by phone or through video links the exercises they should be doing. I haven't even tried the NHS route as in the current climate even if they were offering 'hands on' sessions there is a high risk they could be virus carriers. I want to steer clear if I can. Both me and DH would be on the vulnerable list due to BMI for me and diabetes and BMI for him. Really hoping the consultant can offer some positive suggestions next week.

Having slept all day, DS is now cooking chilli for tea. We only have one working hob at the moment (a problem for around 6 weeks or so  I think). DS suggested we buy a plug in induction hob - found one for around £75 at that dangerous online store known as Am**** and we are going to give that a go. Our current hob is gas so we don't feel we can mess with it or call anyone out during the current lockdown.

Have a good day y'all - hope you are weathering lockdown somewhere spacious with a view!!

The doctors have refused my son another ventolin as its too soon. So in the middle of a respiratory disease pandemic I have to ring the docs for an asthmatic reliever 🙄 and I can no longer order over the phone for him as they have closed the line and cannot order online as he is under 16. Seriously? He is viral induced/hayfever asthmatic so sep/oct and april/may are the worst times normally. He has a ventolin at school which he cannot access and the one ordered a month ago is nearly gone as he has had a huge hayfever flare up (as have I so I know this is what it is). Upped his preventative so it is only lasting three weeks. So frustrating.

Sorry to hear that Drawingaline - I am sure you fully understand my frustration. I had to spell it out to them why I wanted multiple months of supply for all of us despite the PM saying go out as little as poss - and all the warnings about the most at risk groups... Hope you manage to get it sorted soon. My doctors have a very thin letter box that you can put things in - but it is so narrow a gap you put your hands all over the thing to get the note in  -so I did that earlier in the week - as well as a phone call last week - and a note the week before!!! Ring up and ask for an appointment if they won't discuss your meds over the phone. They will refuse to see you anyway ergo will do it over the phone. Ridiculous I know but I don't think their processes have had time to catch up to the real world crisis we are now all in.

If you are ordering an induction job just make sure you have cast iron pans or others that are induction suitable as not all pans work on them. You may already know this but just in case!

Thanks PF - I know it is a risk - but we tested some of our pans with a magnet - apparently if a magnet sticks we should be okay. Will find out later.

Well DS had a chat on the phone with an ADHD team however there is a 2 year waiting list and they are closed to new referrals. She said (understandably) that in the current crisis no NHS team are dealing with adult ADHD currently. DS wants to go into debt if necessary to pay for a private assessment and possibly get medication seeing it as an invest to save for his post uni life. Until the NHS agree to take over his case - even if he paid upfront for a private assessment he could have monthly private meds bills of between £40 and £150 pcm. She also said the NHS may refuse to recognise it until they had done their own test for which he'd have to wait the normal time. He said if I was stressed about it it was because I lacked an abundance mindset. I said I had an abundance mindset - and just see how much debt I am now in from historic overspending!

At least the sun is shining today. May see if I can do some pottering in the garden with a chair close at hand. DH has had to go into work briefly. Third time this week. So much for saving on fuel!

The photo above is of Keswick - I think. I went there a couple of years ago when I first realised that I was autistic. It has taken 2 years to get to formal diagnosis. Photos are coming up on my phone from past trips away and they are very tantalising. This time last year DH and I got a cottage by ourselves for about 4 nights or so while DS looked after DD. I had hoped to do the same this year.

I have had another £1.55 pay out from £co - bringing my total to around £87 for the past fortnight. They were all ones owed from at least 6 months ago. I think I have another £50-60 of stuff waiting to be confirmed but who knows when that will come.

My hearts goes out to all those still in face-to-face contact jobs at the moment. Thank you for what you are doing.

That's a beautiful photo, I was guessing either the Lake District or Scotland.

  • Beautiful photo, I live tantalisingly close to the Lake District, so sad that it's officially closed (apart from a few idiots who, according to pictures I've seen on social media, have still turned up in their camper vans/tents 😠).
At least the local wildlife & fauna will have an opportunity to get some peace from the tourists, can't wait to be able to go back there though.

Am going to have to ring on Monday. However I am going to go through his school bag, blazer and bedroom as I am sure he must have a half full one somewhere! Also my old colleagues work at the pharmacy so can get an emergency one if necessary. Just frustrating. Even I can't order it online as our pharmacy isn't on the list even though it just goes electronically.
