Really good to have all the medication you need.
Hope the sun is shining where you are. Here it is patchy but that makes it all the better when it shines :)

Hi DIA - it was a relief about the meds. It's a bright day with clouds here. At least it's not raining. Just had a scrumptious roast beef dinner. Got DH to do the potatoes and other veg and reheated the meat from earlier this week.Good to know we have plenty of food in. One of the NHS worker families I know the couple both think they have the virus. Praying they come through it okay. They are in their forties I think... I wish my kids were more willing to stay home but they are really stir crazy. .DS needs to finish his assignments and then try to get a job. He's obsessing about ADHD currently.

Pleased to hear that you are all doing ok.  It's fascinating how our sense of good stuff changes - homemade soup and tiger bread - lovely  I made soup today using the odds and ends of vegetables which will last a couple of days.  Keep taking care of you and your family and I hope you find time to do some more of your lovely art.

Just read your comment re bulk buying tissues from amazon. Just places an order. We are onto our last box, and with two people with awful rhinitis I was getting worried as none in any shop I have looked in! 4000 tissues should arrive on Wed, never even thought to look on there 😂

Good to hear you are making the most of the time by doing things you enjoy.  This is the start of the new norm.  But we as humans have incredibly short memories, so once this pandemic has run it's course, we will all be back to the norm of nose to the grindstone, with the working at home a distant memory.  Keep safe and well.

Thanks - take care of you and yours too. I'm doing art 2 or 3 times a week - I would do it more but a) I would run out of materials and b) I am so messy the family would revolt - especially as I'm using our kitchen as an art room. At least using FB to show some of my art to people is offering encouraging feedback.

Glad to help. I got loo roll  from there too. I was also able to send tissues to my parents - every little helps.
Thank you to delivery guys out there - you really do make a difference

Hi Tahlullah - I think some people will never adjust to full time back in the office and will negotiate something different for themselves or leave. I think most of us would prefer at least 2 or 3 days in the office though to make a change from being home all the time. I wonder what jobs will remain once this is over. I think mine should be okay. My DH's job could be at risk though as he works for a charity and many charities are seeing a drop in income of around a third.

One work colleague I know is starting to recover after being very poorly at home for about 10 days now, others are just starting with symptoms. I am very grateful we have been able to work mostly from home - significantly reducing our risk. Those particular individuals are in the top 10 of people I deal with at work so if I had been in the office it is highly likely I would have caught it. I really feel for those unable to work from home though. The structure of work is helping me stay sane in this crazy world. I think college work is really helping DD too - and specific timelines for tasks.

Thank you for sharing the recipes, I've noted down the chicken one, it sounds lovely.
Glad you managed to get your prescriptions.

It would be nice to see us all make some changes once this all ends.  Hopefully many employers will realise that staff can work at home in many cases.  Even allowing those who can to work from home 1 day a week will make a huge difference to transport emissions from commuting.  I'm with you though, I already work from home 1 day, would like 2, but would like to be in the office a few times a week for the interaction with colleagues.

Hi Jwil - the chicken recipe is awesome. I hope lasting positive change comes of this.
I paid £75 off a CC today - will update my signature shortly.
I asked DS to contact his uni accommodation provider (bill due today of £933) to see if this has been reduced or eliminated due to the virus. They say they are seeking govt guidance and will let him know in 3 weeks. He therefore emailed to say he would hold off paying then. The dozy duck though has left his passport in his accommodation - and given DH set off to collect him just before the lockdown announcement last week - they didn't collect everything - I don't think it would have fit anyway. At some point he will need to go back for his remaining stuff.  It would be a Godsend if we didn't have to pay or were liable for a reduced amount!

would DS have been told to leave by now had he not been collected anyway? I have heard others saying that their children were told that they had to leave university accommodation. If that is the case then I can't see how they can continue to charge, although if the room hasn't been emptied then that may put a different light on it. Fingers crossed for a reduction at the very least though!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if employers really looked at their working structures and patterns and made a change.  There are so many who would welcome the opportunity top retire early, giving the younger generation the opportunity to work.  The rest of us would dearly love to reduce our hours, working 3 days per week, assuming we feel we could afford it.  Again, giving employers the chance to take on new staff to fill any gaps.  We can only hope that this is given serious consideration.

Charities have been hard hit, I guess how badly depends on what the charity is you work for.  Certainly the one I work for isn't shedding staff.  We have just redeployed to home working.  We still have contracts to fulfill as much as possible.  Can't do that if we lose staff.  Yes, the numbers may be down because people can't travel due to the lock down, but that isn't our fault, so we are being given some slack on this front.

Hope Hubby is ok and that the funders continue to fund his work.

It's a disgrace regarding the issue of student accommodation.  But some companies will definitely go under if they have to repay everyone for time not in accommodation.  The whole country is in crisis over this.  Give the public their money back on whatever they bought, but this could push a company into administration, which means that loads of people lose jobs as a result.  Which is why I am not jumping up and down as yet for not getting my money back on my holidays.  I am willing to show patience to help others remain in work, because if they go under, when this crisis has spent, there wont be jobs for people to go back to.  There is no easy answer which satisfies all.
