Happy St Patrick's day . I have had such a productive day and I'm full of beans. I managed a run this morning in the forest with pup and it was cool but still ok for the dog. As we ran round it started snowing...I'm thinking there is an entirely different climate in the forest .

I had a list of things to do and I've just finished them. I did a grocery shop this morning and then popped into volunteer thing to sign of some papers I've not had a chance because of work. I then reviewed a set of minutes for another volunteer thing. I tidied my house and changed the beds. I also went through the shoe boxes on top of the wardrobe and have a few things to ebay as I can't walk in high heels any more. I also found 2 pairs of sandals I had forgotten about . I popped over to my Mums and then my Aunts for tea and a chat with my cousins. It is shaping up to be a lovely day so far.

Yesterday I went to a retirement thing for a friend and it was lovely to see old friends but a had a wee bit of anxiety as well which I coped with. I've been invited to a party next weekend which I'm going to go to but need a pressie and to find something to wear. I have a pub quiz the week after for my cousin to raise funds for the Children's hospital. I also have 3 birthdays next weekend :eek:. Lots of things coming up which will cost a bit but worth every penny.

I got my car insurance renewal in the post and it's £50 dearer than last year. It drives me mad that they rely on people just renewing. I will do another quote and ring them on Tuesday and see what they can offer.

Plans tomorrow - a dander on the beach and a nice meal out is on the cards and then Monday is a bank holiday so it will probably involve painting the spare room but I'd rather just enjoy the day.

Commiserations on no more high heel wearing! I've been afflicted with that for a few years now!

Oh and you'll find your insurer will immediately match your cheapest quote or not better when you go back to them! They are all a nightmare!

There is a sign up in the forest saying that they are filming there next week and they had lights up today and were beavering away so now I have visions of Narnia in my head or Game of Thrones

Oh wow - could it be Game of Thrones! :T:T Do they not film the series in your area?

They do indeed. There is a massive castle in the grounds of an old estate about 1/4 of a mile from me and the last few weeks they have been filming through the night as the huge lights are shining when I look out the window. My colleague walked into 'Jon Snow' in Boots when his character was supposed to have died in the previous series so that was a bit of a give away

Sounds like you've had a lovely time Munchin! Car insurance renewal is always such a faff. I'm definitely going to make more effort this year when I renew and get comparison quotes and see if my current insurer can match them.

Afternoon ,

Looking back over my savings plans and thanks to reading SSG diary I need to seriously consider putting more towards my pension. First of all I need to get my Emergency fund, car fund, and holiday funds all topped up. I think if I can make extra contributions towards my pension then I should run that in tandem with my other savings goals. I think my therapy sessions are coming to an end so that will be £200 extra to the pension.

Good call on using the therapist funds towards your pension - that's a nice little sum to start you off with. I have made a few comments in reply to your post on my diary.

Morning all,

Absolutely beautiful bright morning to wake up to on a Bank Holiday. OH is having car problems so he is going to look at that first and then we are either heading out for lunch or dinner today.

SSG - commented over on your blog but will have a nosy round the pension pages and guide to get a feel of what I need to save.

Money front - kind of living for pay day this month but once March & April birthdays are out of the way then things should get back to normal.

No major plans today - relaxation planned. I think I will take pup out for a run later but he seems quite content curled up in a ball beside me.
